Bushman Motors, Inc. Reviews (2)

I just got a really great deal on a car from Bushman Motors. They went out of thier way to get me the car I wanted. This is my second car purchasred from Bushman Motors and I'm very happy with my experience.

Review: Cars work well for about a month than start going down hill from there, my car steering wheel started smoking, it wouldn't start after awhile, everything electrical was going wrong with it. I was still under warranty and called them whenever I had something wrong with my car. They has reassured me that they were to busy to handle the situation and said they would give me a call back. Never received one phone call back from them after waiting for hours. TERRIBLE SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH! There was one time they actually took my car to "fix" the problem. They had my car for a week not calling me to let me know what they were doing, so I call them and they told me they havent heard anything yet. Here I get a call back from them saying there was no problems wrong with my car and my gas tank was on EMPTY after I had just filled it before having them check into it. One of the owners told me they took MY CAR THAT I WAS PAYING ON to there house. I was thinking (why?) So I told them I wanted a refund for all the gas they used. They told me inorder for them to pay for my gas I would have to pay for my tow they gave me. Which is unfair because it was there vehicle that was troubling me! So I drove off an angry customer yet again from BUSHMAN MOTORS, with terrible terrible service!!!! They also have illegal immigrants coming in and purchasing cars with no license at all. Also giving them better service than anyone else. Any car you buy there either stops working, or has so many problems wrong with it you can't drive it. My oil pan is welded, and the bottom front fender is held up by a zip tie. They sell you cars with awful batteries making you buy a completely new one and tires that are about to blow. (no tread on them.) They sell lemons! I wish I would have never experienced this!!! I had friends go through this place and all of them have complained about their car. Or it has stopped working. I had called one of the managers after picking up the phone, he reassured me theres nothing he could do and said " your on time payments are expected from you." I thought if I am making my payments ontime ($250.00/month) I should be paying for a reasonable car, not a lemon. RIGHT? ALSO, I thought selling cars with no insurance was illegal??? How they getting away with this?? im not sure so I thought u should knowDesired Settlement: 1,500 For all the troubles and costs I had to put into this car.

We sold [redacted] a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser on 6/07/2013. The amount she purchased the vehicle was for $4,495.00 She said that she paid $4,995.00, this is just first of many false statements.

She bought the vehicle AS IS, No Warranty. It written clearly in the purchase contract which she had signed. We are not sure where she got the idea that it was under some kind of warranty?

The issue with the smoking from the steering wheel just started a couple weeks ago. Not a month after she bought the car as it would seem in her statement. It looks to me [redacted] is trying to exaggerate a point. Our secretary [redacted] told her to bring the car in and we would take a look it. [redacted] gave me the message on a post it note and I was under the impression that she was going to bring the car in? End of story for not calling her back.

Back in late summer [redacted] did come in stating that the car was almost stalling out at an idle at stop lights. This is when we had the vehicle for a 4 or 5 days. I couldn't get it to stall in our parking lot so I drove the car to my house in Stevens Point. We do not have stop lights in the village of Rosholt so I wanted to resemble her driving habits and get the car to stall out. Stevens Point has plenty of stop lights and driving there would be the best chance to get the car to stall out. It is not uncommon for us to drive customers vehicles some distances to figure out what's wrong with them. All the dealerships I know let their mechanics drive the vehicles before and after they work on them.

The issue was that when the A/C was on, the 4 cyl engine would have to work a little harder to run the compressor. We installed a new idle control module, tuned the idle and as far as I know the problem was solved. We also put in an oil sending unit since I noticed her oil light would blink on and off at low idle. Very common on Chryslers. We did not charge her for any of this. Not bad for buying a vehicle AS IS. Most dealers I know would have definitely charged her something. If I remember correctly we also gave her a loaner car to drive for free while we were working on her car.

As for the gas, I'm in charge of the gas cards. When a customer comes in I look at how much their vehicle has and return it to them with the same amount. I have a company gas credit card, so I see no benefit for me to joy ride on her gas. The vehicle was not brought initially with a full tank of gas and if I remember right it was a little over 1/2 a tank. ( back in late summer ) So I made sure we had a 1/2 tank of gas in it when it was returned. Needless to say the loaner vehicles never come back with the same amount of fuel as when they left.

We towed her vehicle in for free which should have cost about $250.00. Repairs and hours for the time we spent on her car was another $185.00. We did this all for Free. For buying a car AS IS, we thought this was above and beyond what was called for.

Last time I spoke to [redacted] was probably back in Dec. or January. She asked me if she could trade in her car for something different. I told her no problem, once she gets her balance down to near 1,000 dollars or so. She said that was fine, looked around for a bit, then left. If our customer service was so terrible I highly doubt she would inquire about getting another vehicle from us.

[redacted] also claims that we sold her a car with a bad battery, bad tires, and front bumper being held up by a zip tie. I'm certain she wouldn't have bought a car with all this wrong?? I checked the file and that vehicle had 2 brand new tires installed on the front. The two in the rear were well over 60% tread. As for batteries it doesn't take a lot to wear them out. Did they leave a door open, play the radio? Who knows. While the vehicle was in the shop late summer she mentioned the oil pan. It was a very old weld and was holding just fine. I told her that if it starts leaking or if she would like the oil pan replaced we could. She said she'd keep an eye on it.

As for [redacted]'s friends having bad experiences. We've had to repossess 3 of her friends cars already, and we're trying to get back a fourth. We strongly feel that if anyone had a bad experience, we've had the bad experience with her crew of friends.

[redacted] has made her payments on time ( like she said she would in the finance contract) and we always work with our good paying customers. That's why I find it so odd that she is upset.

As for selling our vehicles to illegals? Every customer has to have a WI state I.D. or a SSN . Otherwise we cannot even process the paperwork. We treat ALL customers the same, regardless of race, gender or ethnicity. As I believe everyone should.

Insurance is required by the owner of the vehicle. We sell cars, not insurance. The insurance is required for the owner to have by State Law.

We are willing to look at the steering wheel issue like we had already offered. She just needs to bring it to us.

If there are any other questions or concerns please let me know and I'll get back to you right away.

Thanks in advance.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This statement is truely false, I had gotten a letter in the mail saying I was on warranty also yes the smoking from steering wheel did happen a few weeks ago but all the problems started occurring a month after I had purchased the vehicle. I had tried to call the owner [redacted] all day but they had reassured me he was too busy to take the call each time I called and they also told me that he would give me a call back. Which never happend, I tried again the next day as they had said the same thing he was to busy or not in for the day. Ashley the receptionist had told me that I would receive a call back from [redacted] as soon as he arrived I had waited a whole day again with no response. so I couldnt just stop in without a appointment.
