Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 11:AM To: drteam Cc: '*** *** *** *** ***; *** Subject: Revdex.com #*** First and foremost I want everyone to know that Master Car Care has a 3year, 36,mile warranty on all repairs
done in our shop. This certainly applies to this situationAt any time Mr*** can present his truck for warranty inspection or follow up at no charge. I am personally available to inspect and review the work on Mr*** pickup truck. Please note that in the original complaint to Revdex.com Mr*** says “the original problem was resolved” yet he request a refund on work he says was done. This is unreasonable. Mr*** further asserts that the oil was not changed. While the invoice does not list an oil change, on oil change was done on the truck after the installation of the intake gaskets. It is possible that an additional oil change may be necessary after this type of repair. I will gladly refund the cost of a follow up oil change on presentation of a paid invoice from Sears. I will gladly provide to Mr*** periodic inspections of the work performed and a complimentary oil change on this pickup to assure that his oil is clean Mr*** is a valued client and we are prepared to monitor his vehicle regularly to assure its continued viability Thank you in advance for your consideration Byron R*** Owner Master Car Care & Collision

Let us review the timeline and the facts.
Nov. 12, 2014 1999GMC pickup with 276,941 miles showing on the odometer has an oil change at Sears.
Documents from Sears Auto show that there is coolant in the oil. (This is evidence of overheating of the engine)
Nov. 17th, 2014
the aforementioned GMC pickup is presented at Master Car Care with 277,222 miles showing on the odometer. The owner drove the vehicle 281 miles in 5 days with a previously documented major engine problem. Client did not disclose the documents from sears when he presented the vehicle for service at Master Car Care. His original complaint was the truck was overheating and he was adding water to it regularly. Client was advised to take additional repair measures to prevent further damage and these repairs were declined by the client against good mechanical advise.
Conclusion. client vehicle overheated causing failure of the intake gasket and possible engine damage. Client continued to drive the vehicle with this damage for hundreds of miles before bringing it to our shop and a proper repair was done.
The current condition of the truck remains unknown due to clients unwillingness to bring the car to us to see if there is anything we can do to help him. We remain committed to meeting our obligations under our warranty.
Respectfully submitted,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.
There is a question to actual milage between discovery of problem and the solution,  sears was short handed and could not make repairs at that time I searched for a shop I could trust and sought master car care because I passed it often through my trips to [redacted] down the street . The fact of the matter is addressing the issue in addressing timely manner of five days. Let's be clear that at no time did my truck run hot the slightest variation from normal was enough to get my attention.  And thr traces of antifreeze in the oil was not a combination of water and oil. This was a preventive maintenance step. The fact is I myself am a mechanic the tools are on and in my truck I have operated as a personal private mechanic for years working with family and friends.  I am now a full time student at [redacted],  my Major is Computer Science.  and at the time in question I had test's in both psychology and math that required my full attention.  So when  master car care called me to suggest I pay an additional fee for the thermostat a fee of 135.00 I simply stated that's two screws. When he insisted I lost trust they latter called me back to sale me a new intake suggesting my old one worn beyond repair so when I used the word surrender my truck I have no doubt from past experiences as a mechanic that they are going to manipulate the situation again.  Me suggesting a third party repair namely thunderbolt engine transmission gives me a sense of fair play on both our behalf . Had they only changed the oil after performing the repairs this would not be happening please provide me an open line of communication as these emails are posting several times a day and have become misleading one email suggested I take my truck in for repairs yesterday where today were revisiting the idea of negligence to perform required maintenance on my part. So to the guestion of miles traveled my classes were at central campus downtown Houston my work study at northeast campus and I live in and socialize in this parameter maybe actual milage should be posted for a more accurate summation also the mechanic at sears can provide more insight as he made the determination of suggested repairs and is a witness to the state or condition before repairs Thank You [redacted]
