I went to Business Products Center, Inc. because I had a CD stuck in my Epson printer. Epson's website said they were an Epson certified repair center and it was pretty close to wear I live. This particular printer prints directly on printable media, the media popped off the tray and slid behind it under where paper would be fed. This caused it so the cd printing tray would no longer slide all the way in and give me an error.

I told them what the issue was and they looked at the areas where paper would be fed as well as the back tray where paper jams are likely to occur. They looked over the printer and said if the cd was stuck inside they would be able to see it so that it wasn't the case. They got the printer working to the point where it would print on paper. But the ink was low, they did not have compatible ink so I went home to get my new ink cartridges. We popped those in and it printed on paper, but when we tried printing on a CD the same error occurred. At this point I had wasted a good hour and a half of them fiddling with trays and moving stuff around They said likely it was a gear or motor and that repair would cost more than buying a new printer.

I asked if they could take off the panel and check to be sure. They said that would require them to take off the scanner portion and that to access that panel would take too long and since they charge my the hour would cost me more than what the printer was worth. They gave me Epson customer satisfaction number and said if I complained enough they would give me a discount on a comparable printer. They charged be about $22 for "diagnosing" the problem

When I got home, within 5 minutes I removed the scanner unit and was able to access the panel. Underneath what do I see, but the CD that was stuck inside like I advised. I was able to hook a coat hanger underneath to push the cd out. Put it back together and had the printer up and running within about a half hour.

They wasted over an hour and a half of my day, didn't listen to be, then charged me for it. When I called and complained they did issue me a refund right away but this does not take in consideration the fact that I left work early, spent time and gas to take it to professionals who didn't even try to listen to what the problem was. I would not recommend getting a repair done here. However if you are buying a refurbished unit, this would be a good place because even though they didn't listen, they were friendly.
