The customer brought the truck in with an incorrect diagnosis form another shop of a Passive Anti Theft System (PATS) concern The first thing we found was the battery was dead and the terminals were worn out The customer opted to take care of this himself He put the battery in
After this we started the vehicle with no PATS issues We found the vehicle to run rough, but had no trouble starting We found several loose and broken vacuum lines and repaired them The vehicle had a multitude of other issues from whoever had been attempting, unsuccessfully, to repair it The vehicle left here with the only loose disconnected airflow parts that it came in with The customer did in fact return to us with the vehicle not running On this current visit, we found that it was not related to the previous repairs performed by Butch Oustalet Someone has replaced the crankshaft sensor and/or bracket that it mounts on, or they have replaced the crank pulley Whoever performed this repair either used the wrong part or installed it incorrectly, and they pulley has worn into the crank sensor bracket We are in no way responsible for this, nor will we be refunding the money for the first visit The customer stated to us that he wants his money back because he is short on funds and needs the money That has nothing to do with us being paid to perform a service To put the issue to rest, we have done a goodwill repair on this visit and did not charge the customer for over $worth of repairs Upon completion and re-delivery to the customer, we will inform them that we no longer wish to have them conduct any business with us in the future
