Butler and Son Landscaping and Ground Mainten

We have used Butler & Son numerous times, and overall have been pleased with their work even though it was always difficult to get their attention or interest in doing small residential jobs. I am defining small as $1000. On the other hand if your time and demands do not support doing $1000 dollars jobs then you should not advertise you perform residential services. This spring we had a totally negative experience even though when I first contacted them I was informed they hired a second crew so previous experience wold now not be an issue. They first came out as discussed and all was fine. The job involved taking place on 2 days due to other work, Like I said day one was fine. Getting them out to complete day two was a nightmare. And let me stress day one was removal of old shrubbery so we now had an empty flower bed. They finally showed up on the last day of the week and all they did was plant the new bushes. No mulch or stones for the street as discussed. The crew finished planting and set for over two hours waiting for someone to return. When they did they left and informed us they would return first thing in the morning to complete the mulching and laying of the stone. They did not return until 3:00pm and had no stone. At the end of the day they wanted payment in full and said they would return first thing Monday morning and finish the job. Have not seen or heard from them sense. So if you want a company that takes 2 1/2 weeks to not complete a two day job (Really this was a full one day job that we needed to be over two days) at the most, demand payment before the job is done then Butler and Son is the company for you. They WILL NOT be back.
