Butler Valley Sales Reviews (1)

Review: We purchased a 2000 [redacted] with a snow plow and a 2 year /24000 mile warranty from butler valley auto sales in July 2013. The warranty that was sold to us with the truck was from a separate warranty company . In Dec 2013 the transmission malfunctioned in the truck .It was towed to [redacted] transmission in [redacted] PA. they then contac[redacted] the warranty they were told to tear down the transmission to find out what failed and they did and informed the warranty company what the problem was and there recomendations wich were to just put a remanufactured one in it .At this time the warranty company sent out a adjuster . the adjuster denied the warranty claim due to the truck being equipped with a snow plow . At this time I contac[redacted] the car lot and talked to [redacted] that sold us the truck and warranty . He said he didn't understand why that should be a problem the plow was on it when purchased . he said he was going to call the warranty company about it. he called back in about 10 minutes and said they wont cover it and he didn't know they wouldn't cover a vehicle with a plow and the warranty company was going to deduct what we paid for the warranty off the balance with the finance company. I asked what good is that to me I purchased a vehicle with a warranty so I didn't have these large repair bills. He sta[redacted] he would talk to his father ( owner of car lot) and get back to me. 2 days later I called the lot and [redacted] answered the phone so I asked him what we could do about this he said the warranty company was giving me the money back and that should be good enough and if he had a trans laying around I could have it and he would get back to me on it . I had to call him back on this again to find out what he was going to do and was told nothing!! I had to contact the warranty company to find out that I had to send them a cancellation form to get a refund on it and they knew nothing about a refund on it. Now my transmission is rebuilt and in the truck at the garage waiting for me to come up with the xtra money to pay for it.Desired Settlement: I would like for the repairs for my truck to be covered the cost of repairs are $2262.04 the original warranty had a $100.00 deductable that I would be more then happy to pay. I would really like for the remainder of the warranty be covered but would be satisfied with just the current bill being taken care of. We feel that we have been sold a fraudulent warranty! The salesmen and owner should of been aware that this truck could not be sold with this warranty and should not have been advertised with a warranty on the buyers guide on the window.

January 23, 2014Dear **. [redacted]:We have received, and reviewed the above listed complaint. I would like to express my apologies to **. and [redacted]. [redacted], for the trouble they had with there vehicle. Unfortuately, my son [redacted], who is a salesman for me, had made the mistake of selling a vehicle protection plan, along with this truck. At the time he nor I had any knowledge of a snow plow effecting coverage of this protection plan. As we both found out, a snow plow voids all protection under the plan **. and [redacted]. [redacted] purchased. After discovering this we immediately called the protection service provider and discussed all our options. We were informed that the best option in favor of the customer would be a full refund of the plan’s purchase price.($1930.) **. [redacted] was notified that he would receive a full refund for the purchase price of the protection plan, and it would be reflected on his loan.As far as anything else being done for them, **. [redacted] had asked for some help and I informed him that we may have a transmission for him but would have to check to see. As it turns out we did not have a transmission to fit **. [redacted] truck.?Without the protection plan sold, this vehicle would have been warrantied for 30days or 1,000 miles from date of purchase. Being the customer had troubles 5 months after purchase, and his money for the protection plan has been refunded, there is nothing more we can do.If there is any more information needed please contact us at the above address, or by phone at ###-###-####.?Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:

The buyers guide on window of vehicle stated 2 yr /24000 mile warranty . Not 30 days 1000 miles if you don't purchase the extra warranty!!!! We purchased a truck with a 2 year 24000 mile warranty! I'm not asking for the remainder of the warranty just to have these repairs covered that we thought were covered. If a repair comes up in the future at least we will be aware of it not having a warranty. We do not feel that this is to much to ask for .

I am rejecting this response because:once again the selling point of this vehicle was the warranty! The buyer guide stated 2 year 24000 mile warranty . I find it it kinda funny that he can state that he didn't know the vehicle would not be covered after being in business for years . makes me wonder how many other vehicles they sold warranty on that wouldn't be covered .I have paid for the repairs for the truck and at this point . I feel that this sale was fraud . No matter what I was told Yes when I asked about the warranty. And was told 2 yr 24000 mile warranty! I am not just going to forget about it like it never happened. I will continue to persue this .
