What happened to this place??? I have been a loyal customer since inception of Buttercup Bake ShopWe moved back to the neighborhood in late and was stoked to be so close to my favorite bakeryIn the beginning the place was still as good as I remembered even under the new ownership, but over the last few months it has been a sinking shipIf it was not for the awesome General Manager I would have walked away the first time things went a miss, but she is so awesome that I gave it three more chancesFirst, asked for Hanukkah cupcakes with all vanilla bottoms and blue and white frosting with Hanukkah decorationsThe owner told me they did not have the decorations, but could do sprinkles, thought strange as in the past they have had decorations, but was totally fine with the blue/white frosting on the white cakeWhen they were delivered I received half chocolate cake and half vanilla cake with some Christmas decorations -- we were going to a Hanukkah party! I called the store and the GM told me she was so sorry and in the future they can of course use Hanukkah decorations and that she will fix the cake part this time, but next time place the order with herThe second time I popped in to get puddings and cupcakes for the same family friend who hosted the Hanuakkah partyThe banana pudding was so sour that we threw the tub away and the Oreo pudding was all Oreo with a dash of puddingToday was the last straw, I ordered on the phone a dozen super bowl cupcakes again, all vanilla cake with one ounce of Oreo puddingMy husband, who actually is smart and just does not do errands, went to pick up our orderThe only person there was a person sweeping and the ownerMy husband immediately realized the cakes were not all vanilla, saw our order said only vanilla, but the owner insisted they wereFinally after somehow coming to terms that my husband was right, they had to take out the six chocolate cakes and replace with vanilla, but we are now short because they did not have twelve vanilla cakes In addition, we received two tubs of ounce Oreo puddingThat part is fine, but the cupcakes that were preordered there is no excuseSo I called the store when my husband came home and only the owner was thereI was irritated and firm on the phone and then he made me irate because he clearly does not care about his businessHe felt that he did nothing wrongHe told me I got what I want now so whats the problemI feel he should care more, people pay for items for a reasonWith the zillion of cupcake and bakeries in the city, I would assume one would want to make sure that they heard their clients and not just push me offHe did not like my tone so he hung up on meI called back and asked why he was so childish and hung up, that he should care about his businessHe said he does not have the energy to listen to me and told me to never come back again and hung up again!! So if you want a friendly neighborhood bake shop you might want to go elsewhere because he clearly does not care if his customers come back, he treats you as another number instead of a humanWe all make mistakes and no one is perfect, but to tell me to never come back shows how he really feels about his bakeryHe could care less if he ever had a customerAs someone who was there weekly and a store that is fading I think it is sadThe place was seriously one of the best

What happened to this place??? I have been a loyal customer since inception of Buttercup Bake Shop. We moved back to the neighborhood in late 2013 and was stoked to be so close to my favorite bakery. In the beginning the place was still as good as I remembered even under the new ownership, but over the last few months it has been a sinking ship. If it was not for the awesome General Manager I would have walked away the first time things went a miss, but she is so awesome that I gave it three more chances. First, asked for Hanukkah cupcakes with all vanilla bottoms and blue and white frosting with Hanukkah decorations. The owner told me they did not have the decorations, but could do sprinkles, thought strange as in the past they have had decorations, but was totally fine with the blue/white frosting on the white cake. When they were delivered I received half chocolate cake and half vanilla cake with some Christmas decorations -- we were going to a Hanukkah party! I called the store and the GM told me she was so sorry and in the future they can of course use Hanukkah decorations and that she will fix the cake part this time, but next time place the order with her. The second time I popped in to get puddings and cupcakes for the same family friend who hosted the Hanuakkah party. The banana pudding was so sour that we threw the tub away and the Oreo pudding was all Oreo with a dash of pudding. Today was the last straw, I ordered on the phone a dozen super bowl cupcakes again, all vanilla cake with one 32 ounce of Oreo pudding. My husband, who actually is smart and just does not do errands, went to pick up our order. The only person there was a person sweeping and the owner. My husband immediately realized the cakes were not all vanilla, saw our order said only vanilla, but the owner insisted they were.... Finally after somehow coming to terms that my husband was right, they had to take out the six chocolate cakes and replace with vanilla, but we are now short because they did not have twelve vanilla cakes... In addition, we received two tubs of 32 ounce Oreo pudding. That part is fine, but the cupcakes that were preordered there is no excuse. So I called the store when my husband came home and only the owner was there. I was irritated and firm on the phone and then he made me irate because he clearly does not care about his business. He felt that he did nothing wrong. He told me I got what I want now so whats the problem. I feel he should care more, people pay for items for a reason. With the zillion of cupcake and bakeries in the city, I would assume one would want to make sure that they heard their clients and not just push me off. He did not like my tone so he hung up on me. I called back and asked why he was so childish and hung up, that he should care about his business. He said he does not have the energy to listen to me and told me to never come back again and hung up again!! So if you want a friendly neighborhood bake shop you might want to go elsewhere because he clearly does not care if his customers come back, he treats you as another number instead of a human. We all make mistakes and no one is perfect, but to tell me to never come back shows how he really feels about his bakery. He could care less if he ever had a customer... As someone who was there weekly and a store that is fading I think it is sad. The place was seriously one of the best.

Review: I ordered a dozen cupcakes online on February *, 2016, which were to be delivered to our hotel on February **. My debit card was charged the same day and I was supposed to receive an email confirmation, but none was received. The cupcakes were not delivered on February **, and I visited the local shop around the corner from our hotel on February ** to inquire about the issue. I was advised then that the larger shop uptown actually managed the online orders, and since I didn't have a confirmation number, they couldn't help me. I called the uptown business location on February ** and they also advised that because I didn't have a confirmation number, they could not help me, even though I offered to send them copies of my bank statements showing that their business had charged my card on February *, 2016.Desired Settlement: All I want is my money back for the services that were never rendered.
