Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 7, 2016/04/04) */ We regret the length of time taken to respond to this complaintOur General Manager has been attempting to contact Mr [redacted] but has not yet reached him Mr [redacted] came in to purchase a vehicle and we helped him to find one which would be suitable for his use and his budgetWe prepared paperwork using the most favorable financing terms for himMr [redacted] did sign a Conditional Delivery Form which states that the financing is not final until a finance source formally approves itUnfortunately we could not obtain financing on his behalf at the terms we had hoped to secure for him, due to his limited credit experienceThis created the need for him to sign new paperwork using the terms dictated by the finance companyHowever, Mr [redacted] does have the option to refinance the vehicle loan as soon as sufficient history and experience have been documented We apologize for anything that may have been done or said to make him feel less than the valuable customer he is, and we will be glad to welcome him back for any further service needs or assistance of any kind he may need

We feel it is unfair for Mr*** to accuse our Company of 'bait and switch'There was no 'bait', no 'switch', and we do not conduct business in the manner implied
Mr*** first came to the dealership on a Saturday and purchased a
Honda RidgelineHe is an intelligent, qualified buyer and made it clear that he wanted a very low finance rateThe lowest rate we found was with *** (1.99%)The rate at *** would be 2.55%
Mr*** then returned to the dealership on the following Monday and demanded that we take the vehicle backHe claimed that the start switch did not operate correctlyWe interrupted our most qualified technician and immediately had him do a thorough test using Honda specifications and proceduresThe test found nothing wrongThe computer system stores various malfunction codes and there was no code stored that would indicate a malfunctionA call to Honda confirmed that there have been no problems with these switches
While we were testing the vehicle Mr*** placed a call to Honda and stated he wanted to return the vehicleNothing was said about the financing or the finance source
Mr*** called the owner of the dealership, who returned the call but did not reach Mr***Mr*** posted a very negative review on GoogleNow Mr*** is asking the Revdex.com to intervene, and is using a different reason for asking that we allow him to return the vehicle
It is our opinion that Mr*** has simply changed his mind about purchasing the vehicle, but does not have a legitimate reason for returning it
If Mr*** would like to have us refinance the vehicle through *** we will do so, but because of the higher interest rate his payment will increase

I'll address these statements individuallyLet's begin with your your statement #1- bait and switch:
From the first phone call to the female salesperson I asked about the % rate available from *** for the RidgelineShe said yesLater, during the discussion of the deal with the salesperson and sales manager, I mentioned *** multiple timesI was informed that was not available but they could do Since I mentioned *** I assumed this rate was from ***I was never informed of the finance company THEY chose for meTo emphasize my point the loan company name does not appear on the loan documentsIt seems there must have been a benefit to the dealer to use ***All I ever asked for was *** Company but they put me with *** without my knowledge or consent, FACT
I returned to Asheboro Honda within business hours to return the defective vehicleSince they do not offer "good customer service" they refusedEven though their "most qualified technician" determined there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, it has failed to start on multiple occasions.On Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday it failed to start, I finally took it to a another Honda dealership for warranty repair on WednesdayAfter and half days and hours on the phone with Honda engineering, they ended up replacing the ignition control modulePicked the vehicle up on Saturday, 16th and it failed to start all day Sunday and part of MondayCalled Honda road side assistance and had it towed back to the dealership for more repairs that Monday.The outcome is currently unclearFACT
Nothing was said about the finance company problems on Monday because I was unaware until I received a text on Wednesday from *** thanking me for my businessI filed a complaint with Honda America about your shady financial dealings later that week and prior to my complaint with the Revdex.comWould you like the complaint ID number?
I left or messages with the ownersOne did return my phone call but I was not availableI returned his call within minutes and left a message but no one has bothered to return my calls since, FACT
Yes I have used social media to speak my truth concerning this dealership
I see these as two separate issuesNumber - defective productNumber -The shady financingI will discuss with Revdex.com about the 2nd claim for the defective vehicle
The only resolution is to return my deposit and vehicle equity because I would never do business with this dealership again

Our perception of the conversation and comments concerning financing, rates, etcare not quite the same as that of Mr***We are disappointed that he is experiencing the problem that we were unable to duplicateWe are sure that Honda will work with him in isolating the problem

I believe you are confused, this is a complaint about unscrupulous finance activityA customer asking about specific financing and your office leading them to believe that's what they were receivingBy not disclosing who the financier was you took away my right to choose, had someone said it was with *** I would have objected, sought another finance optionWith my credit score I could get financing from anyoneNo one was more surprised than me when I realized my auto loan was with ***, that was your finance offices doing, I did not agree to a loan with that lender
