This is in response to complaint # [redacted] This customer states she wanted an estimate for repairs to her vehicleIn order to determine what the problem is with the vehicle, especially in cases when a dash light indicating engine problems or any time of engine related problem is indicated otherwise, a diagnostic test must be performed to "troubleshoot" the issue One cannot just look at the engine and determine the problemWe utilize [redacted] scanners which hook up to a module panel and read any trouble codes that are on in the vehicles computer This scanner reads codes only and shows them on the scanner screen to readThere is no printing ability on these scannersThey are not diagnostic computer programs as used in dealers where a report can be printed The customer asked for our mechanic to "troubleshoot" the problem with her vehicleWithout running the scanner to receive the trouble shooting codes from the vehicles computer we would not be able to assess the issues and provide an estimate for possible repairs We performed the service as she requestedOur charge for the scanner hook up and mechanics time to perform the process were charged accordinglyIf this customer wishes to discuss this matter further, she may feel free to contact the owner, Barry B [redacted] or I We value our customers and strive to provide the best possible service with the best possible outcomesHeather B [redacted] Manager BWB***'s Service Center LLC Sent via the [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because that is not how it worksI take my car to your shop like I have for the past yearsYou give me an estimate at the cost, and I choose to accept or deny the estimate for repairsI should have been contacted regarding any cost to "MY" vehicleI am years old, and have never had a garage go ahead and do work without my permissionNEVER! I went to another local garage after this disappointing experience, he called me up and stated it is the CAM sensor, and said it would be $total with taxHe did the work, and picked it up that afternoonThat is the service I expectThis was an important lesson learned on which garage I can trustMy husband is only working two weeks a month due to a company truck being totaledThis might not be a lot of money to some, but for us it was a devastating blow! I am extremely disappointed in our service, and will never use B***'s Garage again!
