Bway Management Reviews (13)

Had a really bad experience with Bway Management recently First, they tried a "bait and switch" scheme, then they tried to change the price on lease-signing day, then they again tried to change the product, then they added a second security deposit demand at least-signing that hadn't been discussed prior, then the final straw was a product that wasn't even ready for use (hole in bathroom wall, no fixtures, etc etc) AFTER signing the lease Felt lucky to get out and get our money back Plus the names of the companies involved kept changingIt was Bway Mgmt, then it was The Management, etcetc Never could find out who the actual landlord even was Unscrupulous!

Review: I put a deposit on a room in a two bedroom 2 weeks before I had to move in. I was given a receipt. I was told that they would either find another roommate, or get the landlord to allow me to move in while they continued the search. After repeated unanswered calls over the course of a week and a half, I was told at noon on my moving day that even though I was approved and assured that I could move in, that I was now not allowed in the apt. "The landlord changed his mind." is all I was told. With no where to live, I was forced to put my things in storage. In the meantime, the company assured me that they had an almost finished property that would be ready in 2-3 days at the same price but I needed to sign the lease (with the other roommates) immediately before that landlord could change his mind about letting us move in before the rest of the building was completely finished being renovated. We agreed, paid the 1st months rent, (in addition to our deposits) and signed a lease. After a week, we still do not have keys to the apt, or an executed lease and the representatives are not returning our phone calls. They won't tell us when the apt will be ready or when we can get the keys. Throughout the entire process, they have not been communicating with is. I have to call or message an average of 10-15 times before I can get any type of response. I have had to spend far more money than expected on the move and I'm homeless. I can't get another apartment until they return my money but again, they will not answer the phone or reply to any messages.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded the 1800 (deposit + 1 month rent + credit check fee) I gave them plus reimbursed 200 for additional moving / storage expenses that I incurred through their negligence.

Review: I was supposed to move into unit ** ( I believe, its been so long now) a 4 bedroom off [redacted] in august, the day of my lease signing I was told that the 4 bedroom turned into a 5bedroom, which I was not ok with, so I said no to the apartment and went on my way. Before that I had paid a deposit of 500$ with the written and verbal verification and acknowledgement that I would get the money back as if the apartment hasn't worked out, It has been almost 9 months, after multiple phone calls and various inept office workers who didnt follow through on anything, I still have not received my deposit. I have emailed on multiple occasions, spoken to the [redacted], and to the [redacted] who keep saying someone will get back to me, everything has been verified, and yet I have not gotten back by deposit money.Desired Settlement: I want my money back immediately. not soon, or after we review it or next week or next tuesday, I want it now.

Review: Bway Management Co,(BWAY MANAGEMENT LLC [redacted] who's street address is at the corner of [redacted] and [redacted] at what appears to me to be in fact [redacted]);through one of their agents - [redacted], purported to rent me an apartment at [redacted]. After showing me the apartment we made an agreement that I give him the sum of $850 in order to put a hold on the room. I did so, in exchange for a written receipt documenting my deposit and outlining its terms. I gave two further deposits of cash with further receipts provided. With two days to go before I was due to move into the new place, I received a call from Bway saying that the room had gone to someone else via a different management company. Despite frequent requests for full disclosure on any exposure I might have to such an event, Bway management had made no written or oral provision for this and therefore in my opinion entitled me to a full refund. They agreed to provide such, both through the company [redacted] and [redacted] - refund of $1150, the money I had given them in full. The next day, I arrived at the office (now with one day to find a lease by myself) and the [redacted] met me at the bottom of the stairs and offered me $1050. I demanded to see the [redacted], who eventually decreed that I take $1050 or wait for the police. Under the circumstances that they had placed me under, I had no choice but to sign the documents handed to me and take the money. The company made a number of threats and false representations to me which can be found in full detail here: [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like the balance of the funds which I gave Bway Management Co returned to me. I am owed $100 dollars which was withheld with no contractual provision. I have copies of all documents between myself and Bway Management they very clearly make no provision for a non-refund such as the company insisted upon - on top of which they vitiated the entire contract in my opinion by failing to failing to actually put a hold on the room.

This company is absolutely terrible. I was going to get an apartment through them, but turned out I couldn't get the apartment after I had signed the contract and put in my security deposit. It has been over a month and I still have not received my security deposit. It's only $400....how is it that it's taking them so long to even respond to me about giving me back my $400????

THEY ARE A FAKE AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY.
