Byblos Bathrooms Reviews (9)

From our first meeting with Abe we were impressed with Byblos Bathrooms Being a family business, Abe and his sons really care about what they do Unlike many other reno companies who seem to be just doing a job, it is apparent that Abe loves his work We had other estimates for the job, but his was the best price and throughout the project he lived up to his word to create a "wow" bathroom when finished We had a bathroom completely gutted, a window installed, custom vanity and wall cabinets, the floor tiled matching the tub/shower surround Tiling and cupboards are spectacular An added bonus, Abe had great taste in choosing a quartz vanity top to match the wall tiles and also choosing the fixtures A year ago, we had done the same type of bathroom reno done with another company, but it was a much less positive experience - more expensive, longer to complete, poor communication, and less quality workmanship than Byblos Abe was always accessible and kept us informed about progress, finished in good time We will be hiring him again in the future

We had a great experience working with Byblos Bathrooms Abe was efficient, knowledgable and very flexible with his time He not only provides excellent quality and craftsmanship but has passion and pride in the work he does We have already recommended Byblos Bathrooms to family and friendsThanks Abe for the transformation of our bathroom spaceWe will enjoy it for years to come!
The ***

Abe and his sons provide a high quality of service in renovations of bathrooms I needed tiles installedHe provided excellent choices of bathroom tiles, then proceeded to follow the proper preparation of the walls for the tiles His workmanship is wonderful, and he and his sons accomplished the job in record timeThis family business provides accurate information about what the process is going to beThank you Abe

I contracted Byblos to completely renovate my half bathroom. They started in Sept. After 3 weeks they were not yet finished. And the quality of workmanship was appalling. The Quartz vanity top had a chip in it. I found two other tiny areas in the quartz that had been repaired. The initial paint job was also appalling. After finishing the 1st coat, the towel rack, toilet paper holder and light fixture were installed. Damage was evident to the wall in the vicinity of the toilet paper holder. After the vanity light fixture was installed, then the contractor decided to repair and plaster some of the drywall around the fixture. Why would anyone install the fixture or affixed anything else to the walls before all of the plastering repairs and painting was completed? The switches for the lights and fan were installed crookedly. And although both of these switches are identical in size, different size coverplates were installed, one of them also crookedly. The contractor's website advises that all of the work is performed by the owner. Other than laying in the floor tiles, I rarely saw him. Much of the work was carried out by his 2 sons. The painting was done by another person. Days would go by before anyone came by to continue the work. I finally became totally fed up with the lack of progress being made and the lack of any kind of worthy workmanship. I finally gave the contractor the boot and only paid for the floor tiles, vanity and mirror. I then brought in another contractor [redacted] to finish the work and provide me with a new, undamaged vanity top. While removing the former vanity top, the new contractor found that the overflow drain and the drain trap were approximately 75% obstructed with debris. I can only conclude that many materials and debris were simply being flushed down the sink rather than being disposed of in an appropriate manner. Once the vanity light fixture was removed, it was found not be have been installed correctly, i.e. not properly secured to the supporting structure behind the drywall. Wires were also not properly secured. Even the faucet was installed crookedly. Now it is going to cost me more money and more time to complete the job. The new contractor had indicated that the remaining work should be completed within 2 days. When I solicited quotes for the reno, Byblos was the lowest. My mistake. I should have taken them to Small Claims Court for wasting my time and money. I can only conclude that they didn't have clue what they were doing or simply didn't care. I wouldn't recommend this outfit to anyone. What a completely frustrating experience.

It's unfortunate that I feel compelled to submit the following review of this contractor but I hope it will prevent further customer grief. We contracted this business to renovate our main bathroom and an ensuite - cash basis - in February (2015). During the next 7 weeks, there were so many mistakes and so much sloppy work and missed schedules, we mutually decided to part ways. There was little to demonstrate he had the 25 years experience as indicated on the website and rather reflected more the work of an amateur. The list of deficiencies is extensive: grounds not connected in electrical circuits, leaky plumbing, broken vanity cabinet components, general centering and symmetry of toilets, vanities, fixtures, medicine cabinet and lights not considered, hot/cold lines reversed, tiled flooring squeaks, Schluter pieces too short, significant grout residue on wall tiles, glue residues on cabinets and a general mess after any activity. In the end, the contractor indicated he was no longer interested in continuing! That was obvious!

Very disappointed. Shoddy workmanship, overpriced, took way too long. Very dirty, did not clean the work site when finished for the day. Blocked our back driveway for 4 weeks. Said the job would take 4 or 5 days, took 5 weeks, call anyone else

Not one good one to say regarding workmanship or products used. Hours late or do not show up at all...a ten day job turned into just over three weeks. Company is absolutely dismal. Best advice...DO NOT USE these people. He even had the audacity to ask me to write a letter of RECOMMENDATION to the Revdex.com.

The Byblos team was a pleasure to deal with! From start to finish they were focused on making sure our wishes were being met, and the end result would be something we were proud of.
