[redacted]'s vehicle was brought to our shop on 2/4/15 for an appointment scheduled for 2/5/15 for a brake line repair. We were asked to repair a blown brake line and to check a second one if needed. The vehicle was brought into the shop on 2/6/15 after a lift was freed up. The brake line from the...

abs module to the rear axle was blown and needed replacement. The brake line was seized into the abs module. The line was sprayed and heated in an attempt to save the module. After several attempts the line came out of the module. While truck was on lift, it was noticed that all other brake lines with the exception of rear axle cross over lines needed replacement. Also noticed, was the gas tank straps were broken due to rust. A call was made to [redacted] on or about 2/9/15 advising of added brake lines that needed replacement. Also at that time, [redacted] was advised on the gas tank straps. A verbal estimate of $500-$600 was given at that time. [redacted] authorized the repairs at that time. He was then advised that we were unsure how soon those added repairs would be done, but we would do our best to get them done as soon as possible. Truck was brought back into shop on 2/12/15 to complete all necessary repairs.  Upon removing remaining brake lines from anti-lock brake (abs) module, one steel fitting stripped out the aluminum threads in the abs module. This was due to rust and corrosion. A new abs module was needed to finish repairs. Advised customer. Repairs were authorized with additional cost of approx. $150.00 for module. Module was ordered. Brake lines were replaced, gas tank straps were replaced and vehicle was removed from shop on or about 2/13/15 awaiting parts. Module was delivered on 2/16/15 pm. Module was installed on 2/18/15, brake lines were bled out free of air, and vehicle was complete on 2/19/15. The replacement brake module cost was $250.00 but was given to customer at previously quoted price even though the price was an estimated quote due to evening hours and unable to check with parts supplier for actual price. In addition, all additional labor involved in trying to get out seized brake lines and replacement of abs module was not added to customer invoice.  We do acknowledge that this job did take an extended amount of time to repair, but this was due to additional repairs needing to be done to this vehicle and trying to work this additional repair work into previously scheduled jobs along with parts not being readily available. We felt that keeping the labor cost down and absorbing the additional expense in the cost of the abs module was considerable compensation for the amount of time it took to get vehicle completed.

Revdex.com spoke to [redacted] ?at the business and the following was resolved: A check was sent to the customer and we consider the matter resolved.
