C-12 Lacrosse/Entrotech Composites, LLC Reviews (5)

C-Lacrosse is a premium manufacturer of high performance carbon fiber lacrosse handles
We offer an industry leading month warranty
Mr*** claims the handle brokeThis is not the caseIf the handles would have broken in two
pieces, during play while under warranty, then it would have been replaced.
What Mr*** is claiming as a break is directly due to the head of the lacrosse stick not being installed on the handle correctlyWe only manufacture the handle, not the head.
It is common knowledge in the lacrosse community, that when a head is placed on the handle, the head should be snug and not loose
Lacrosse heads are made of thermoplastic (plastic) materials and with time, the throat of the head will stretchThe throat of the lacrosse head is the section of the lacrosse head were the lacrosse handle inserts into the headThe stretching of the throat of the head is more common with long poles due to poke checking, a defensive maneuver in lacrosse.
Mr***s lacrosse handle is a long pole
When a lacrosse handle is inserted into the lacrosse head, if the lacrosse head is not on snug, the head will teeter tooter on the handle, shifting load (stress) for the throat of the head and handle to the screwThe screw on a lacrosse stick, is only there to keep the head from flying off the handleIt is not intended to carry a loadWith a loose head on the handle, over time the teeter tooter effect will cause the screw to widen the insert hole until the screw falls out or pulls throughThis can happen to every lacrosse handle on the market
During my conversation with Mr***, I explained the above information and suggested that he rotate the handle degrees and re-insert the handle into the headI emphasized to him to be sure the head is on snug (No Teeter Tooter)If the head is loose, simply apply a piece of athletic tape over the handle until the head is snuggly on the handleAt that point, drill a new hole and put the screw in to hold the head on the handle
The handle is universal enough to put the head on top of the handle on either side
Improper installation of a lacrosse head onto a lacrosse handle does not warrant a claim
Below is a YouTube video I found on line that my help with understanding this issueAdvanced to the 1:minute mark of the YouTube
***

[I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

When we purchased this stick, it came with the directions to put a screw in the stick to hold the head in place (see the photos of the stick with those directions printed on the stick).
There were no directions to put a piece of tape between the head and the stick and there certainly wasn't any direction to view a random YouTube video which has nothing to do with the C-12 company.
As seen in the attached photos, after 6 months of normal use, the screw hole failed and tore out all the way to the end of the stick.
I still feel this is a failure of the stick, not the head, and not the installation.

It is common knowledge
in the lacrosse community when inserting the head on to the handle, to check
the tightness of the head on handle. The screw is not to carry a load, only to
prevent the head from flying off.
If the head is not
properly installed, the screw begins to carry a load and damages the screw insertion point.
There are many different
manufacturers of heads and handles.
Mixing and matching of
different manufacturers equipment is a common practice in the sport of
lacrosse.
The C-12 Lacrosse handle
in question is universal in design, universal referring to there is no
functional difference between the top and the bottom of the handle.
Our recommendation to
correct this issue is to rotate the handle 180 degrees or upside down.
Re-set the head on the handle securely and re-insert the screw. This will
not have an impact on the remaining portion of the warranty and will be 100%
functional.
The improper application
of the head on the handle is a human error, not a manufacturer’s defect.
Our industry leading 12 month warranty covers manufacturers defects, not human error.

I will have our warranty department contact the individual and honor our warranty.
