Review: On 1/15/14, we had [redacted] come to our house to estimate some tree work - dangerous limbs that needed to be trimmed. He gave an estimate of $800, and I wrote a check for half. Later that day he did some of the work, but then said there was an issue regarding tree ownership (city vs ours). Unfortunately, my wife then wrote him a check for the rest of the money - our mistake. A surveyor apparently came the next day to verify the tree is on our property. Since then, I've had many promises that he would finish the work, but I haven't seen him or his employees since that day. There are still limbs to be trimmed and work to be done (per the estimate sheet he gave us). He continues to promise he'll call or show up, but although there have been many clear, warm days since then, he still hasn't finished the work.Desired Settlement: I'd either like the work to be finished this week, or the money refunded. There is still a large dead limb in the tree, along with many other cross members that need to be trimmed. That was all part of the work he promised to do, and it remains undone. I need to call another tree service soon to have these potentially dangerous limbs trimmed.

Review: My wife and I hired Charles B[redacted] to do landscaping/lawncare at our property in Stanton Heights (Pittsburgh, PA). The work was never completed.

We used his services in 2013 and 2014 without problem. In 2015 he asked for the full amount up front, which we paid, everything up to that point was per normal, the work prior to 2015 was taken care of weekly.

We paid him $1138.26 for the 2015 season, he did not complete one single day of service.

He admits this in writing, he admits not doing the work and then after we press him on a refund he also states in writing his intentions to pay us back. We have not received any money for payment.

My wife and I told him we would be fine with $20 a week as an act of good faith, so we know his intentions are to make this write.

He has since avoided all attempts at contact.

I have also attached a PDF of text correspondence between Charles B[redacted] and my wife regarding the payment for 2015 and his admittance of not doing the work he was paid for, as well as his claims of reimbursement.Desired Settlement: We just want our money back in full. The amount of $1138.26

As mentioned before we would be happy with $20 a week until the full amount is refunded.

We want a refund for work which was not completed by Charles B[redacted].

Review: I recently hired Charles B[redacted], owner of C&J landscape management (aka East End Landscaping) to do a yard clean up and then weekly mowings on our primary residence and a rental property. He did a good job on the initial property clean ups. However, he requested payment in advance for mowings through the end of August which I now regret providing to him. We paid him $390 at the end of July and he has been back to mow once since then. After a background check, I'm now aware of his significant criminal background, including 2 court dates this week--one for a civil case and one for a retail theft charge. I assume that's what's keeping him busy and preventing him from delivering service as promised to his customers.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for service not performed.
