Review: [redacted] was referred by a coworker for landscape services. [redacted] came to our home to discuss new patio details. There was no contract written at this time, or the following week when the work began. Payment was discussed verbally. [redacted] arrived on April 14th to work. He showed up w/o any help so I helped him dig out the area for our patio which was 13 x 10. [redacted] arrived with one ton of paver base, landscape fabric, and staples. Upon dumping the paver base and spreading it, [redacted] then started laying the patio pavers without compacting the base or placing leveling sand. I suggested that it wasn't looking like there was enough material to hold the pavers level due to large gaps between the pavers. [redacted] agreed and said he would return the following Tuesday with an additional ton of paver base to level and finish the project. After a week w/o hearing from [redacted], I called but failed to get him or a call back. A week later I finally spoke with [redacted] and he stated that he would be able to finish the job that week. After a few more weeks of back and forth we told him it had to be done by May 28. When the work was not completed on the 28th we called and fired [redacted]. Upon researching how to finish the patio ourselves, we soon came to realize that [redacted] was missing important steps like compacting the the base and placing leveling sand. [redacted] stated that he would send an invoice for the work and materials that he had provided. During the interim of waiting for [redacted], the pavers at 40# ea. ruined our new lawn by causing deep depressions and killing the grass. [redacted] has sent a note threating to file a Mechanics Lien and to call our employers. Not only was [redacted] not skilled in the services we had discussed, he was also very unprofessional and not punctual whatsoever. He has never gotten my first name or last name correct on any of the invoices. We are extremely dissatisfied and would never recommend C & C Lawn Care to anyone!Desired Settlement: We offered to pay half of the invoice which included materials and partial labor.
