Review: After only having the car for not even two months I discovered my "almost new" car was very faulty. I had to replace the battery, the brakes, the windshield wipers, engine light came on, and apparently they forgot to connect the radio to the speakers. The salesman started raising his voice when I pointed out that he was overpricing me from what was on the website and started saying most prices were cash only. [redacted] said he would not let me on the road if anything was wrong with this car and showed false care. He was very sketchy, rude, and I kept catching him in lies, do not talk to [redacted] if you want to buy a good car. The car was dirty on the inside when I drove it off the lot, cob webs and trash under seats. They kept changing the story on the car and did not even have my name right on the paper work after looking at my I.D several times. In the end I will probably have to spend more money fixing up this car then I did purchasing my "almost new" car.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for repairs and an explanation why things were over looked.
Business
Response:
I
feel this complaint is unwarranted. The purchaser, [redacted], has
not once called my company in an attempt to resolve any issues she had with the
vehicle she purchased and financed with my company. We have been in
business 22 plus years and were awarded “Quality Dealer of the Year” by the
Houston Independent Auto Dealer Association as well as the “Most Distinguished
Business of the Year” by the South Houston Chamber of Commerce. We have
accomplished this by providing great customer service and being up front and
honest with people. I will touch on every issue in her complaint in this
email. According to her complaint, the battery failed almost 2 weeks
after purchase. This tells me it was good at the time of purchase; there
is no way for me to be able to know a battery is going to fail after 2
weeks. The complaint about the brakes was resolved at the time of sale
and she agreed to bring the car in to have them replaced. I agreed to
replace the brakes and I did, see attached invoice from [redacted]. The wipers were never brought to my attention, but I would have
certainly provided [redacted] a pair of wipers at no cost…I believe I have 10 or
so pair in the service garage. The engine light coming on nearly 2 weeks
after purchase could be a number of things…it is certainly not unheard of in my
line of work for the past 22 years. Had she mentioned that to me, I would
have told her to bring the vehicle in and let us provide a free computer
scan. [redacted] complaint that we “apparently forgot” to hook up speakers
is false as well. We discussed that at the time of sale and agreed to
have the radio/speakers repaired. She brought the vehicle in and we
followed through with our end of the bargain, see attached invoice from [redacted] was also offered a warranty on her purchase and
chose to decline, see attached Delivery and Acceptance, line # 2. The
price she paid was the price online; I monitor my online pricing multiple times
a week and train my sales staff on pricing guidelines as well. I am not
going to comment on anyone’s character as [redacted] did [redacted], other than
say I can name a list of people who would be able to tell her just how
nice and helpful [redacted] is as a person and as a [redacted]. As
far as us “changing the story”, we do not story tell here, we simply construct
a deal that works well with us, the dealer, and the customer. I’m not
going to comment on the cob webs or misspelled name. I feel I do not
owe [redacted] any monetary settlement seeing how we negotiated a deal. She
agreed to the state law of buying a used car as-is, she declined to purchase a
warranty that my company offered, and she never called to resolve any issues before
writing a nasty complaint on my company in an attempt to degrade my business
with the Revdex.com. As far as [redacted] wanting an explanation of why things were
overlooked, all I can say is that we’re all human, and that her name, as nice
as it is, is easy to misspell if you don’t take a second or third look. I
do not like having dissatisfied customers and wish she would have come to me
first before writing a complaint. I am providing documentation of the
agreed negotiations at the time of sale. If there is anything else I can
do, please do not hesitate to call or email.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
