The vehicle was ordered to be towed by Richfield Apartments. At the time of the tow it was reported to FWPD as is required. There are...

multiple signs posted at Richfield Apartments of tow away zones with our name and phone number on these. This is so you know who to call in the event that your vehicle was towed. So as to he did not know who towed the vehicle until the apartments opened was false. It is on multiple signs at the apartments and if he would of tried to contact the police as stolen it was reported towed off private property. When the owner picked up his vehicle he informed me that his car had no brakes. He said it wasn't that way when he parked it at the apartments. I looked under the vehicle and noticed a broken brake line. The owner stated that he had no prior problems with his brakes and It had to be happen as a result of towing the car. It didn't appear to be damage as a result of the tow truck however the owner didn't seem to be a person who would make this up. Since the repair was minor I agreed to bring the car in our shop to repair it. This made the owner very angry. He said that he only trusted one mechanic to work on his car and that was Ward Stevens Automotive. He also stated that his car was in perfect condition and all it needed was an oil change. I know ward Stevens Automotive to be a reputable and trustworthy business. So I agreed to tow the car to Ward Stevens, the owners choice to have the car repaired. At this time owner seemed to calm down and agreed that this would satisfy him. So we did just that and also told Ward Stevens to change his oil. The pills, cigarette smoke and attacking him was never brought to our attention until we got the letter from Revdex.com. We paid Mr. Stevens for fixing the owners vehicle. I received a call from the owners mother about this situation and she informed me that her son has a medical condition that causes him to become angry easily and therefore she was calling instead of him. When I asked her why we were accused of stealing the pills and attacking her son she stated that was said because he was mad. She then went on to tell me that he would be willing to retract his statement with the Revdex.com if I wanted to agree to pay a reasonable fee. At that point I told her I refuse to be extorted and I ended the call. I never did find out what that cost would be. Ward Stevens Automotive was paid for the damages and also an oil change.
OFFER:
I fixed the vehicle that was damaged and paid for an oil change and the mechanic of his choice. That is more than I was responsible for already.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/02/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
"The vehicle was ordered to be towed by Richfield Apartments. At the time of the tow it was reported to FWPD as is required. I'm not contesting the conditions at Richfield apartments. In my first paragraph, just after I said my car got towed, I said "Up to this point was my fault, my friend even moved my car to what he thought was the guest spot". To re-iterate, I took responsibility for the reason my car got towed which makes me wonder why [redacted] went into detail about signs and what not.
"When the owner picked up his vehicle he informed me that his car had no brakes. He said it wasn't that way when he parked it at the apartments. I looked under the vehicle and noticed a broken brake line. The owner stated that he had no prior problems with his brakes and It had to be happen as a result of towing the car." ([redacted] of Pro Tow)
During our discussion, I never actually said that it had to be Pro Tow's fault. [redacted] simply wouldn't admit the possibility that his business, Pro Tow, might be at fault and it took way too much arguing for [redacted] to propose that we have a mechanic look at it.
"It didn't appear to be damage as a result of the tow truck however the owner didn't seem to be a person who would make this up. Since the repair was minor I agreed to bring the car in our shop to repair it. This made the owner very angry. He said that he only trusted one mechanic to work on his car and that was Ward Stevens Automotive." ([redacted] of Pro Tow)
My mechanic, a trusted business associate of [redacted], quickly diagnosed that it was Pro Tow's fault. The "appearance" of my integrity should not be the reason a mechanic of 17 years, [redacted], would believe that I "didn't make this up". When [redacted] had offered to fix it for me (claiming it was only a $10 repair), he had yet to even introduce himself by name or as the owner. [redacted] Wendels unprofessional mannerisms and rude etiquette really frustrated me, but I never became angry. I worry for the kind of person who lets a stranger break their car and fix the problem they broke without even knowing who they are (sounds like a con man to me).

Actually I said my car was tip top not perfect. I think anyone would agree that perfect condition is a brand new car. The car was in excellent condition before being towed by [redacted]'s business. Also, I never asked you to change the oil, that was your choice.
"The pills, cigarette smoke and attacking him was never brought to our attention until we got the letter from Revdex.com." ([redacted] of Pro Tow)
A cursory glance at Pro Tow's reputation online shows that it is a business known for theft and unprofessional practices. I told [redacted]'s employee about the smoke and pills. If the employee did not convey the message then that is not my fault. When I used the word attacking in my Revdex.com claim, through context it should have been easily known that I implied verbal attacking, which you did, [redacted]. You talked louder than me. You talked on top of me to the point where I had to practically be rude to get a word in. You badgered me about something (compression links?) not being up to code that I didn't understand (My mechanic later told me [redacted] was wrong and the car part [redacted] was referring to was factory issued). Overall, you were an incredibly difficulty person to deal.

([redacted] of Pro Tow)
My mother told you that I have a condition which causes me great anxiety, not anger. I am diagnosed panic disorder and bipolar disorder, both of which I regularly see a doctor for and take medication for. It's sad how you are trying to throw someone with a mental disorder under the bus. Discrediting me simply because I have a mental disorder is low brow even for you. I am sorry you saw it that way, but my mother was trying to help, not extort you. Ward Stevens informed me that the repair you claimed would be $10 amounted to $300 and two days labor. I was without my car for an additional 2 days because of the damage caused. Once again, I never asked you for an oil change. All [redacted] has done so far was pay for damages that your business, Pro Tow, caused. Damages that endangered myself and others around me.
Refunding my $135 tow charge would be a good start to resolving this issue. At this point though, based on the conversation you had with my mother (my mother said [redacted] was rude) and the dishonesty I have had to refute in [redacted]'s Revdex.com response, I'm really only interested in informing others about what happened. I highly recommend avoiding this business at all costs.
