this vehicle has an aftermarket extended warranty  through [redacted].  Which AAMCO is a preferred vendor with an excellent  vendor rating.  This vehicle was here for 10 business days, and the work was completed in a timely manor for an insurance claim.  This process...

involves  diagnostics,  part failure identification, and several steps for approval  authorization to begin and finish the work.  The vehicle took 4 days to get all the repairs authorized, which includes overhauling a transmission.  Six days after authorization we fixed the vehicle.  The customer only had to pay 150 dollars out of pocket expense.  His warranty company has rental reimbursement of 26.99 a day  for rental car coverage.  Asking and demanding of 4,000 out of pocket expense does not add up

I am rejecting this response because:The warranty expires in April and the car did not deliver me. What if the warranty expires and I do not give me the car?               I do not think pay more because I pay for the service and warranty and if the shop owner change that is not my problem.
Sincerely,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I have key tags proving that the car was in their shop 6 separate times after the original repairs not only 2 times as they say … what did they do the other 4 times when my car was there for the whole day? Why aren’t they clarify that? They claim defective components now?  They blame a bad oil pump now? The car had no mecha[redacted]al problems whatsoever and what does the oil pump has to do with replacing the external seals? In their previous response they said that it was burned clutches!!!???I was told a different story I went there: at the 2nd visit they said that they needed to replace a defective tail sealat the 3rd visit they said that they didn’t tighten the screws enough at the 4th visit they said that they had to replace the transmission gaskets because they were installed wrongat the 5th visit they said that they had to redo all the work because fired the previous mecha[redacted]s for not doing proper work and they just hired new mecha[redacted]sat the 6th visit they said that they found a bad “O” ring which they replacedWhy wasn’t a “bad o ring on an external cable” part of the warranty if the reason I went there and paid them was to fix all the leaks in the transmission? And why is my car still leaking if everything is fixed? I have pictures to prove how the car was leaking every time I got it back from them because I put a different piece of cardboard underneath and every time there were leaks in different areas … that’s how I know the transmission is still leaking … where can I send pictures of the pieces of cardboard stained with oil … I have a bunch of them.A specialty repair shop as a transmission shop should know what things could be wrong with a leaking transmission and have a pretty good diagnostic after they look at the car, what these guys did was to get lure me into their shop with a low price and then overcharge me as they do with other customers which end up calling the cops to get their cars back. What they told me in the beginning is that they can fix all the leaks for $800 period … after I took the car there they blamed internal components that had nothing to do with the seals. They gave me two choices … either pay them $800 and they put the transmission back and have it leaking as it was before or pay them $2,000 to rebuild the transmission … why is that? I paid them to fix the leaks and they should have fixed the leaks and not worry about any other components ... why couldn’t they fix the seals? And why are they still leaking?Furthermore I have 2 reports from the other shop where I went for alignment on the same day I went to AAMCO indicating that mecha[redacted]al components were removed when they took the transmission out and they were not put back properly and I could have ended in an accident or worse …Where can I send pictures of my floor mats and carpet to show how dirty they were after each visit at this shop? This is a classic car they totally ruined with oil of their dirty shoes…I am tired of reading bad reviews online about AAMCO … it seems to be a companywide policy to do bad work and overcharge customers and I don’t want to go back to AAMCO … I could have been dead now if the alignment shop wouldn’t have discovered their “crime” for not installing the steering components properly …I don’t accept their lies and I want my money back to take the car to a proper shop and do the work right … I have collected names from other unhappy customers while I was there and I will continue my fight all the way up to the Adams County District Attorney and the consumer fraud division until I make sure they get what they deserve.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This car was repaired by the prior owner.  This vehicle came back in under new ownership, and the warranty was honored and was repaired under warranty. The other concerns are not related to the orignal repair, and additional work was declined by the customer.

the work was performed at...

this shop under prior ownership. the valve body was faulty and the new owner covered the repair, even though the customer was not charged for the part, and the part was never replaced on the original repair.  The customer should pay for the 1400 dollar part that is needed.  the other repair was completed  for a engine sensor which is not covered under warranty.  The vehicle sits here due to the part that was re ordered was sent here and was the wrong part,  the part has been re ordered, but is on nationally back order as per Nissan.  We are doing everything we can, but we can not get the part here any faster, since it is out of stock and waiting on a shipment.

The leak on the transmission are fixed, and the work we performed for the oil leaks are fixed.  He can bring his car to any AAMCO  to honor his warranty and verify there are no more leaks.  That is the purpose of a nationwide warranty.  He Authorized the work,  after the oil leak and front pump he could have gone to another shop and spend even more money to fix his transmission. He chose to have the work completed here.  We did not force him to do the additional work.   A valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket has nothing to do with steering and suspension. Furthermore we showed him a leak with his steering system, and he declined to repair it.  The work we performed is not a safety concern for  his life.  THis is attempt due to the fact a minor seal was defective.  We honored our warranty, and took care of the leaks.  We Paid fifty dollars for one floor mat to be cleaned. We would like to see all 6 cleaning bills that he claims that he paid.  We had a dirt spot on a floor mat, and we cleaned it  while the car was here.

The vehicle is a 1979 corvette.  the car is almost 40 years old.  The mileage has flipped and is 120,000.  The condition of this car is average at best. The car came in December for an oil change and transmission oil pan leaking fluid.  We performed the service and, reported...

to the customer he had additional oil and transmission leaks coming from the front of the transmission, which warrants  the removal of the transmission from underneath the rear of the car.  The customer rescheduled to have the additional work performed at a later date and time. When the vehicle came back a second time, we fixed the rear main engine seal, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gaskets.  After removing the transmission we noticed the leak was from the front pump and not a seal.  This would involve removing internal transmission components.  Since we have to repair the transmission internal parts we were able to visually inspect all the internal transmission parts, and found a burnt band and some burnt clutches.  We suggested an overhaul and the total price went from 800 to 2064 for total repair including additional oil leaks.  The customer stated that the transmission shop behind us quoted him 1600 to fix the entire transmission. We explained when you factor both repairs our transmission portion was less than the other shops quote and he went with us.The vehicle came back for a warranty repair. We found a defective valve cover gasket, and the transmission had a bad o ring on an external cable that was not part of the transmission warranty. We fixed the external leak under warranty, and also gave him 50 cash to have the car detailed as a sign of gratitude and his trouble.  The work was valid and we honored the defects under warranty.
