Review: No communication - lack of knowledge. Mechanic had car for 21 days. We drove car there to be fixed. Finally picked up on 06-18 undrivable. Had to have towed to another mechanic to be fixed which was fixed in 2 days. Had to rent a car for 3 weeks which should not have happened. I feel he took advantage of me by keeping my car knowing my son needed it to get back & forth to work. If he didn't want to work on it, or even if he didn't have time that's all he had to say. I would of understood. But he was highly recommended & had history with the car so I trusted him. He was very rude & very unprofessional. I just don't understand why he did this. A bill that cost me $477.00 to finally get it fixed actually cost me $1510.0 for 21 days of my son's car being kept at his shop. Not acceptable at all. Very disappointed, will never use him again or even recommend him. I feel like he took advantage of me.Desired Settlement: I feel that [redacted] should be responsible for at least 2 weeks of the rental car. The towing bill to another mechanic since it was driven there and undrivable when picked up. And maybe even half if not all of the mechanic's bill from the other place. I feel it should have taken maybe no more than a week to fix it.

I have never been rude to any customer. [redacted] stated she had VECH in other shops 7 - why? We only charged her for one part on the VECH and did not charge for the many hours trying to straighten out the many problems of a 26 year old car, no storage was charged and we are not responsible for car rental or other cost beyond our control.

We will also refund the small amount [redacted] paid us due to health issues and medical advise, the shop will be closing soon.

I am rejecting this response because: First of all, the car was driven to his shop by my son. When my son and I went to pick up the car after 20 days, the car was not driveable. Which meant I had to have it towed to a mechanic to get it fixed. Which cost me an additional $57.00 that I shouldn't of had to pay.

Second of all, its funny how [redacted] states that it took time to check the car since it is 26 years old, when he has a history of working with that car with the previous owner (which I have all the receipts). When I was able to get it fixed within 2 days with a mechanic that never had seen or worked on the car. That tells me either he didn't want to work on it or he really doesn't know what he is doing. He could of just been honest.

Third, As far as storage, I never asked him to store the car. Any professional mechanic would not have taken 20 days with a car and still not fix it. Not my fault for storage. If he couldn't figure it out within the 1st week he should of said so and not kept it that long. And last, I honestly feel like he is responsible for me having to rent a car for 3 weeks (1st week - yes I understand) 2nd and 3rd, it should not have taken that long to fix a fuel pump. My son and I had to get back and forth to work and needed transportation.

Bottom line is, I feel he did me wrong, and should own up to his wrong doing. He is a crook and I feel he needs to learn how to treat people the way he wants to be treated. Be honest and learn how to communicate. Reimbursement for part of the rental which is $650.00 (2 weeks and the tow bill of $57.00) would be fair since he was wrong. That doesn't even include the other $325 of rental for the 1st week or the $477.00 for the fuel pump fix.

Again I state above VECH was in other shops for - ? - This car rental is very high - ?- Anyway we did not rent this VECH. Did not charge for hours "work".

I offer customer a full refund pd. to us in this matter - your receipt of a letter stating pd. is full and matter in fee & simple closed.

Again I state shop will be closing "soon" due to serious health issues.

"Please respond as soon as possible" as time is limited!
