I have reviewed the concerns of the customer from your report I called the customer immediately and scheduled a visit on April 5, at 5:PM The customer did call us on April 4th the day she reported her concerns to the Revdex.com Our service department was in the process of
scheduling a service call when the report was received Upon my visit and inspection of the windows I did notice that the interior strips were loose on several windows and needed corrected I told the customer that I would schedule a man to come out and correct the interior strips As far as the garden window, I previously visited the home and explained that what was happening was condensation was forming and that it could turn into frost The garden window we installed has a 1" insulated panel underneath the bottom of the window This was factory installed The garden window projects 15" past the exterior wall and I explained that the surface temperature of the glass on the center window unit of the garden is colder than room temperature The customer agreed that condensation must be forming on the window units and dripping onto the wood Because of the insulated seat board there is no way that condensation could be forming on the wood seat itself I informed the customer that when the service man comes to correct the interior stops that I would have him inspect the exterior of the garden window to make sure that it is sealed properly and would have him seal the interior of the garden window where the window units meet the wood seat Also, I advised them that if this happens again next winter for them to call me immediately I supplied the customer with a copy of the Revdex.com's explanation about condensation Any window that projects from the exterior wall of a home is more receptive to having condensation if the conditions that causes condensation exist Condensation can even worsen with plants in a garden window Finally, as far as the customers statement that they talked with other companies and they said that condensation is unacceptable in a garden window, is not accurate No reputable window company would ever say that condensation will not occur If the humidity is high in the home and the interior and exterior temperatures are just right then condensation will be seen on windows, especially a window that projects from the home I fully understand my customers concerns and will correct the interior stops and make sure the garden window is sealed properly

Metropolitan installed windows for the [redacted]'s in 1991.  The manufacturer, Thermal Industries, no longer make the model of windows purchased by the Zieger's.  Although, Metropolitan carries in inventory several window parts for future services, we did not have the required parts for their...

windows.  We recommended and arranged for a third party serviceman to visit their home and see if he had in his inventory the necessary parts.  The serviceman did and corrected the problems.  Mr. [redacted] was NOT charged a service fee.  Metropolitan paid the third party serviceman for his visit to the home.  Metropolitan has always honored any and all warranties given to their customers.  We will continue to do so for Mr. [redacted] and all of our valued customers.John S[redacted]President, Metropolitan Window Company
