C. E. Rimmer

Review: Warranty Issue::: In the later part of January 2013 the DIC portion of the instrument cluster on my 2007 Yukon went blank. I went to my mechanic [redacted]and he said it must be sent out for repair. He said a company C. E. Rimmer does work on clusters and recommended I check them out. He would pulled the unit and send it out once I decided. I check C. E. Rimmer's website and they note "Lifetime Warranty". With this information I had my mechanic pull the unit and send it to C.E. Rimmer for a rebuilding. In late December 2013 the DIC portion went blank again. This was less than a year after C. E. Rimmer rebuilt the unit. I went back to my mechanic and he called C. E. Rimmer to inform them the unit was no longer functioning and asked about the warranty and was told "Yes" it has a "Lifetime Warranty". With that the instrument cluster was sent back to C. E. Rimmer for rebuild but returned about a week later with a note attached that the unit was "not repairable". Pete, my mechanic, then called me to let me know the unit was sent back with this note and asked what I wanted to do. I told him I would contact C. E. Rimmer and inform them since they repaired it with a "Lifetime Warranty" the unit should be replaced. I tried to call them twice with no answer back from them so I sent an email to C. E. Rimmer. I finally got a response stating the board was "not warrantied". At this point I sent several emails informing them that at "NO TIME" did they inform my mechanic during the phone calls with him or on their website does it state the board is a "non warranty item". I again asked for a replacement unit or to send me a check.. Several emails were sent and NO RESPONSES.. This is deceptive advertising on warranty work and C.E. Rimmer should be responsible for replacing the unit based on their warranty information or at minimum send me a check to replace it with a unit if they do not have one. Cost of a refurbished unit is approximately $500.00. Thanks BobDesired Settlement: I would like them to do the following: 1. Cover purchased replacement cost for another unit - $532.97 Attached invoice from Summit Racing. 2. At minimum refund the charges I incurred mechanic cost plus repair $250.00 3.
