I requested to have my laundry room moved to the main floor.
I asked Ewert Plumbing to give me an estimate to move my basement laundry to the first floor. While [redacted] was here, I explained to him that I wanted the water lines to come up through the walls. [redacted] sent me an estimate and it was the cheaper bid of the 2 that I had. On 5/15/2013, a technician came to my home and I showed him where the new laundry room would be. I was only in the house a short time before leaving for the day. When I returned home in the afternoon, the work had been completed. I noticed at that time that the lines were not in the wall and that in fact they had brought the lines up through the floor. I then realized that they did not put on a vent to the outside of the house for the dryer. I called Skip at that time and asked if the gentleman was coming back to finish the job. He stated that he normally doesn't do a dryer vent when moving a laundry room. He stated that he would have the tech come back out next week to do that but he was going to charge me roughly $300. I told him that was unacceptable and that my husband would do it. When we received the bill in the mail, I called and spoke with [redacted] and explained to her that I was upset about the service. She stated that Skip would call me back and would take care of whatever concerns that I had. Skip did in fact call me back. I explained to him that I was not happy with where the lines are because I specifically told him that I wanted them to come up through the walls. He stated that he did not know that's what I wanted. I reminded him of the conversation that we had while he was here giving me an estimate, giving him examples of how it would be easiest to have access to the wall to bring the lines up. [redacted] spoke to me in a condescending way as if because I was a women, I wouldn't back down. Skip offered to come back out to fix the job and I asked him if he was going to charge me and he stated well, of course, it's a new job. I told him that I was not interested in paying more for a job that should have been correct in the first place. There has been no contact since.
