I was charged a $240 convenience fee for using a charge card that I was not informed of. I would not have used the card if I knew.
I purchased 2 pre-arrangements for cremation at Legacy Center. I was given the option of cash, check, or charge for payment. I did not have $2590 in cash on me, nor did I have a checkbook, so the saleslady told me to use the MasterCard rather than come back at a later date. When I received my charge card statement the $2590 charge was listed, with an additional $240 charge for a convenience fee. When I called the number next to the charge, I was told it was for using the MasterCard for payment. I was not informed of a convenience fee, it is not on the contract, no where is it posted that there is a fee for using a charge card. I had the money in my account, I would not have paid with the card if I had known of this charge.
