C & F Insurance Group LLC Reviews (2)

Dec The issues with this policy resulted from the use of the property being incorrectly classified based on erroneous information from the insuredAfter *** *** death, we were informed that his body shop would still need coverage because his brothers would be taking over the business
Based on this information, the policy was renewedThe company later ordered a property inspection on the business and discovered that it was, in fact, vacantNone of our insurance carriers will write a policy on a vacated businessHad we known this would be the circumstance, the policy would have been cancelled immediatelyHowever, the insurance company still provided the insurance for months despite the fact that it was ineligible for coverage per underwriting guidelines*** *** was provided everything she requested and we have the documentation to support this*** *** *** even provided *** a refund check directly from the agency's business account so that she would not have to wait for the refund disbursed from the carrierThe policy was written with a surplus carrier which operates on a 30-day accounting ledgerWe since have received the breakdown from the company and it was provided as requestedThis customer was a poor executor for the estate, very disorganized and commonly requesting amounts due on the estate's insurance despite receiving bills from the companiesWe have never been shown legal proof of executor status, although she was instructed to do so by email from our agencyBottom line, had we known the true nature of how the business was being handled, We would not have even insured it to begin withWe've been in business Over years and this is our first complaint We have a proven reputation for strict underwriting standards and will not compromise these standards based on threats of complaints to the Revdex.com

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.1. Why would I pay $1,524.18 to maintain coverage on something that didn't exist?  I don't know anyone who would do that.  There  was a business being ran out of the property and was the property was not vacant.  If there was a "closed" sign on the door it is was because they were off the property obtaining parts for the business.  The business has now been forced to close due to lack of communication to me from C&F Insurance about coverage.2. Yes, [redacted] did provide a check but said he "couldn't provide a breakdown the of refund".  Soon after submitting the complaint to the Revdex.com the "invoice" was mailed (see attachment).  It is dated October 10, 2016 but he couldn't provide me with it on November 21, 2016?  The coverage had been cancelled for thirty plus days and I had to request a refund.  On the date of picking up the check [redacted] mentioned a 25% fee but didn't seem to want to explain.  This is why I have been insistent on obtaining a breakdown.  I do not want to be charged a fee that I shouldn't be as no one else would either.  3. Until November 21, 2016 I didn't have any correspondence (email, phone or in person) with [redacted]  All correspondence was with Mr. [redacted] that began shortly after [redacted] death on March 10, 2016.  I only had one email requesting legal proof of executor status.  That email, which was provided with original submission, stated to bring the documentation in when I was picking up the refund.  I had it ready to provide but [redacted] didn't request it.4. In the beginning I provided [redacted] with a specific address for items relating to [redacted]  Only the dwelling policy was coming to that address.  Looking back at the timeline of events, [redacted] most likely did not correct the address on the other policy as well.  This is why I was "checking in" sporactialy on the accounts.  Checking in on accounts, means that I didn't want to have any late fees, outstanding balances owed, etc.  If I wouldn't have been checking in I wouldn't have been informed of the cancellation that occured a[redacted] didn't seem to know about it either as it took two requests (Nov 11 & Nov 16) to get an answer about the accounts.5. As stated in #3 I didn't encounter [redacted] until November 21, 2016 yet he continues to attack me stating things such as "poor executor for the estate", "disorganized", "nothing polite about you".  I work with the public on a regular basis and I  would never tell a customer or address a customer (current or past) the way [redacted] has continued with me.  I still have yet to receive a formal cancellation document and a copy of the policy showing the cancellation clause since [redacted] stated there was 25% cancellation fee.  As a reminder, we did not request the cancellation. Regards,
[redacted]
