 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The upper main roof was not remediated. Upon returning home on July 23, 2015, we saw no improvement on the condition of the upper main roof. We saw an improvement on the lower roof. P. Cooper Roofing claimed they remediated both upper and lower roof. Furthermore, that day the ground was wet and muddy, allowing us to see which areas of the roof P. Cooper Roofing contractors worked on. There were no foot tracks on the upper main roof, just the lower roof. Our surveillance system showed 5 workers arriving at our residence on July 23, 2015 at approximately 2:27pm EST. and finishing work at 3:54 pm EST. We called again and reported that the upper roof was not remediated. Chad Solar ignored us for a very long time, forcing us to call the main number. Chad finally came out to our residence on approximately Aug 8th. He apologized for the delay and our situation and asked for us to wait an additional two months so he can see if there is any difference with the change of weather (cooler temperature). Since the weather has cooled down, the problem area has improved. The warping has subsided a bit, leading us to believe it is a spacing issue with the plywood as previous contractors pointed out.
End of October, we had to contact P. Cooper Roofing main office, as Chad ignored our calls and emails. On Oct 27, 2015 Chad sent my wife a text message refusing to do anymore work until we replaced the roof trusses. Chad also offered us a price estimate “replacing all the roof trusses. And changing the spacing to 16 inches on center. It doesn’t make any sense replacing plywood until you provide a true level plum substrate so that plywood will sit level with no sags.”. Our trusses are 16 inches apart. When roof was originally built, 2x6 were up to code at that time. Furthermore, these roof issues should have been brought up to our attention at the time Chad came to our residence provide us a cost estimate. There was no evidence of sagging or warping prior to P. Cooper Roofing replacing our roof.
Since all these issues, we've had 3 separate roofing contractors inspect our roof and attic (e.g. [redacted] Family Roofing & Siding). All three came with the same conclusion that plywood was improperly installed prior to replacement of shingles.
We would like P. Cooper Roofing to come and replace the damaged plywood in the upper main roof, as promised by Chad on Aug 8th. Furthermore, he ensured us that P Cooper Roofing would repair it and make it right.
Regards,

After our inspection of the attic it was then determined that there was no issue with the newly installed roof.
It was determined that the construction of the roof was completed with 2x6 joist that appeared twisted. Construction of a roof by code calls for the use of 2x8 or 2x12 joists. We reported this to the customer and explained that the issue was a structural issue not a roof issue.
We explained to the [redacted]'s that they needed to contact a structural engineer to repair the joist issue. After the repairs are completed we also mentioned that we would return to install the roof at a cost.
Thank you
