We recently had CH Paving install a 5000 square foot driveway at our home and we could not be more pleased with the results. From estimate through completion they were professional and easy to work with. The office staff were kind, courteous and always willing to answer questions or address our concerns.

After getting a quote from CH paving, they started in about 45 minutes ( no contract offered or provided). They ripped out the old pavement and repaired it in a very short time. There are roller marks in several spots and both sides of the driveway don't look the same. We were told to say off the driveway for 2-3 days, which we did. A few days later I noticed indentations from our vehicle tires. I emailed The company with my concerns, and I was told this is "normal". I have had my driveway paved in the past and NEVER had any problems with tire indentations. And, I should be parking on pieces of plywood under my tires for 3 weeks. I was told that this is explained on the back of the contract ( which I still didn't have a copy of). They also wanted to "sealcoat" our driveway immediately after paving it. I did not take that option. A week or so later they asked again about sealing our new driveway and they gave me a good price so I agreed to let them do it. Still not having a contract! When I expressed my concerns about the ruts from the tires they reffered me to the back of the contract. When I explained that I never got one, they dropped one off. It recommended parking on the plywood and not to seal the driveway for months.
Other companies I've checked with advise staying off the new pavement for weeks, not days in order for the proper curing of the asphalt.
I would like a full refund and would choose another paving company to

Review: C.H. Paving came the day they said and ripped out the existing driveway and came back the following day to complete. When I came home from work I noticed the driveway looked different on one side then the other and there was a noticeable seam in the middle. The seam wasn’t terrible and know when these driveways are laid the pavers are not big enough to do driveway in one shot so let it be. They told us that we had to stay off driveway for at least 3 days and 5 if the weather was hot. During this waiting period I sent them an email in regards to a concern I had in the appearance of some areas of driveway and they responded saying someone would get back to me (never did). The weather was hot so we stayed off driveway for 8 days just to be safe and this was not difficult to do considering we are allowed to park on our street. After the 8 days we began parking our cars in the driveway and soon after noticed the car’s tires on the right side of our driveway were sinking into the pavement. It was actually happening on both sides but was more pronounced on this side. My mother who lives with us called them and asked if someone could stop by to look at problem. Someone did and explained to my mother that this is a typical occurrence and is normal. She said it is normal for our tires to sink into the pavement!! Is it possible that maybe your crew did something incorrectly? He said he would get back to us after speaking to the boss. While waiting to hear back from them I pulled out contract and read that they were suppose to use 3 inches of asphalt compressed to 2 ½ inches. This was always in the back of my mind and decided to take a few measurements around the edges of the driveway and found that the thickness especially in area where tires were sinking was 1 ½ inches thick. I called the owner immediately and asked him why hasn’t anyone called yet and why are my cars sinking into the driveway. He said that the hot weather was to blame and I explained that I stayed off it longer then you told us and why is it only happening on one side. He didn’t have an answer and then asked him why is there not the proper thickness of asphalt in some areas as stated in contract? He basically said we can’t be perfect!! Listen I understand that a job like this isn’t a perfect science with measurements but 1 inch of missing material is a huge problem and this needs to be fixed. Charlie said he would come back to repair problem Labor Day week and still have not heard from him!!!Desired Settlement: We just want what we paid for and want driveway repaired and installed as per contract.

Regards,

Review: I paid for cleaning off the pavement, seal coating and crack repair, however, the crack repair was not done properly and missed in some places. I called the office on 9/5 and left a message. On 9/6, I spoke with [redacted] who said they were having problems with the truck and someone would come out on Tuesday 9/10 to fill in the cracks that were missed. I called again on 9/10 and left another message. No one has come out to complete the work. Last time I had them seal coat the driveway, the driveway looked like a carpet and they did a great job.Desired Settlement: For CH Paving to send someone fill in the cracks that were missed on the driveway.

Response:

Good day, we would like to apologize for not getting out to Mr [redacted] house sooner. I sent one of our employees out to fix the cracks again and they are filled according to our employee. Some cracks in some cases are too small to be filled and the ones we do fill are completely filled when we leave but do to drying and not knowing the depths of some cracks they may appear incomplete. Seasonal weather will also have an affect on them. We have it stated on our invoices that there is no guarantee on crack repair and tire marks. We do try to keep our customers satisfied and respond to the as quick as possible. Any further questions please feel free to contact us at [redacted] or ###-###-#### the main office. Thank you again, C.H.Paving

Regards,

Review: The installation of a new asphalt driveway was done on October 31, 2013. The contract stated that this would be a 3" commercial driveway, with a one year warranty. I think that the first half of the installation was done correctly and is in good condition. More asphalt trucks were needed to do the rest of our driveway, which is the part that is not doing well, and perhaps was not done as thick as the first part.

I contacted the firm in February ( 4 months after installation ), March and again in July. They kept saying they would get to me - that I was on a repair list and that they were busy with new installs in the spring. The owner, [redacted] called me on July 30th, and said he would come and fix the problems ( he said he could do this the next day ) but that I would have to have the driveway seal coated for $600. I told him I would think about that. When called them back, I informed a person in his office that I just wanted repairs per warranty. But not wanting the additional services, they did not schedule a repair date, have not fixed the problems.

Contacting them is hit or miss - I've tried several times, there is no answering service and no way to contact them or get them to come and fix this.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix the cracks, flaking and thin areas where weeds have grown through the blacktop in half the driveway. I want the rest of the driveway to be 3" thick per their contract. They have not even come here to look at the problem.
