Review: [redacted] at C&J Payee services refuse to give my social security money owed to me this month.
I am paying C&J payee service to handle my money that I get from disability social security. Almost every month I have a problem with them giving me what is owed to me. Well this month, October, I moved and only needed to pay half the rent in my previous place and the new place was being paid for by my fiancee. They gave me my first part of the months extra money on the 1st with a $200.00 moving cost. When I went in on the 15th to receive the rest of my money which should have been approx. $175. She refused to give it to me stating that she already gave me $200.00. I desperately explained that that money was for the uhaul and the dump I needed that money for food. She said that it's too bad and there is nothing she can do about it. She says that a check was accidentally duplicated and is showing him in the red admitting that the error is their fault but still won't give me my money! She says I have to come back NEXT month. I begged and pleaded and said I had to eat and feed my dogs but Patty with her snotty attitude snapped again that there was nothing she could do. Patty is rude rude rude and shouldn't be punishing people for HER mistakes! Who else is she doing this too? Makes me wonder if she's purposely holding the money to gain the interest. Why else? Isn't that stealing?Desired Settlement: Just give the money that's owed. My god! Heartless people!! I had $866.00. You gave me a check for $110.00 on the first for necessitites and a $200.00 check for moving costs. Half the rent at previous place was $250.00. That's $306.00 LEFT! Subtract [redacted] and fine and that should be $175.00. Give me my money!

Response:
In response to Mr [redacted] stating that we did not give him his money. On 12/20/2013 Mr [redacted] received a check in the amount of $500. In the month of December Mr [redacted] received $1700 and this is not including his rent. Mr [redacted] monthly income at the time was $866.40. So Mr [redacted] is receiving his funds.
Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: I have never seen a check for $1700 and asked her several times to give it to me. According to previous records she has had that money since 11/04/2013. What is taking so long to give it to the new payee?? As for the original complaint that had nothing to do with the $500.00. That was part of the $2500.00 that was sent from Social Security. My complaint was for October. She sent 2 checks to a previous landlord instead of one putting me in a minus instead of fixing it and giving me my money I had to wait over 3 weeks to see a dime. I'm not even concerned about that anymore since we have bigger fish to fry now and I would like my $1700.00 please!
Sincerely,
Review: C&J Payee Services is refusing to work with me, they claim they mailed my 2 checks in the amt of $250 on Feb. 15th, still haven't receive checks!
C & J Payee Services in Sacramento, CA, was delegated by me to be my payee of my Social Security Disability Benefits, I receive monthly on the 3rd of the month. Their job is to pay my bills and distribute my monthly benefit in the amount of $1,491, approx. Some bills were paid by C & J Payee Services and the rest of the amount with our agreement was they would mail me two checks on the 3rd and 15th of every month. Totaling $1000. Each check I receive would be in the amount of $250 each for 4 checks per month. C & J Payee Services, especially [redacted] served me well when I lived in Sacramento. Essentially, I didn't have to have them mail my checks living in Sacramento because I was fortunate enough to come to their office and pick them up. But, since I've moved to Hemet, I've had to rely on their mailing system and make contacts with them on phone. Contacting them by phone is almost impossible especially there office in Sacramento. Since living in Hemet, the cheeks I receive from them are often late, and getting in contact with them has been horribly poor. I went and change Payee's and now have a Payee Social Security has approved starting March 1st, 2013. However, since I change payee's this month, I have not received my 2 checks in the amount of $250. I made numerous calls to the Sacramento office and finally getting a hold of [redacted], on Wednesday, Feb. 21st, to confirm she mailed my two checks on the 15th. She said she did. So on Feb. 22nd, attempting to call [redacted] again because I still didn't receive my checks, only to get a busy signal, a broken phone recorder, that kept telling me "message full please input access code". I then proceed to call their Marysville office and spoke with [redacted]. I told her I am tired of dealing with [redacted], and I need them to handle my case because I have not receive my 2 checks totaling $500 and frustrated with working with [redacted], I told [redacted], I thought [redacted] was worthless, and only wanted to work with [redacted] or [redacted], because I wasn't getting anywhere with [redacted], it's been frustrating ever since I moved to Hemet. [redacted] proceeds to call [redacted] in Sacramento to tell her I think she was worthless. And, now [redacted] said, she's not working with me anymore all I can do is talk to [redacted] on Monday February 25th. Now it's Monday Feb. 25th and I call [redacted], trying to talk to [redacted] and she hangs up on me. I still haven't receive these checks totaling $500.Desired Settlement: I want C and J Payee Services to pay me the rest of my money in my account totalling $650, 250 X 2
checks plus $150 in their reserve has my savings because I no longer desire their services.

Business' Initial Response
It is our mission to serve Social Security recipients who have been deem unable to handle their benefits. Mr. [redacted] stated that since he moved to Hemet he has had issues with us mailing his checks to him. We have made an exception with Mr. [redacted] to mail two checks at a time. We cannot be held accountable for the mailing system. Mr. [redacted] lives in a rural area.
My employee [redacted] informed Mr. [redacted] that since he felt her services was worthless that he would have to deal directly with me. In any business, if a client has an issue with an employee it is in the best interest of both parties not to have dealings with each other.
Mr. [redacted] stated that he called on February 25th and [redacted] hung up on him. That was untrue due to [redacted] not being in the office on February 25th. I feel that statement was made due to his current impetuous behavior and attempt to intensify the situation. All monies that have not been received by Mr. [redacted] will be returned to the Social Security Administration due to the requirements set forth by them when a client changes payees. The procedure is to protect the client as well as us.
Consumer's Final Response
I wanted to let you know just to keep you updated because unfortunately you closed my complaint but I still haven't received the $31.78 that C&J Payee Services stated with their response to my complaints file with you that they would returned that money` to Social Security on or around the 4th of April. It's now the 16th of April and I still haven't received that money. So please don't close my complaint or at least do not state on ur website that they resolved the complaint because I know it's only $31+ but they are treating me poorly and they are probably doing this to other clients they represent. They don't hold their promises. I have Social Security sending them correspondence to get them to return this money but they think they can just walk all over Social Security recipients. I am so glad I don't have them handling my benefits. The new payee is so much more convenient and cooperative!

Mr [redacted] stated that he received his checks on March 1, upon further research we found that Mr [redacted] cashed the checks on February 28, 2013.
