Our roof was replaced 3 years ago by McConkey & Sons. We requested Snow and ice barrier due to ice jams in the past; I am hoping it is there. We had a lot of clean- up work after they left. I had tar from the old shingle removal on my sidewalk, my white garage doors and a few other places which I cleaned up myself. There were also lots of shingle nails in the yard. I did not call them as they had already cut a screen and knocked down a solar tube which they did replace. This year and last we have had leakage into our sunroom. The flashing on the roof to sunroom had been cut during the roof installation. We hired a local contractor to fix this and he pointed out that we do not have a drip guard on our roof job which is considered to be important for a long roof life as well as keeping damage from occurring to the fascia. Had McConkey's pointed that out we would have had that added. This is the reason for my first comment on the ice shield. I am NOT pleased having found out this bad news along with our leak in our 18 year old sun room !!!!! The shingles do look good and have held up well in the last 2 winters but the finishing touches and absence of caring about a job well done was not what I expected.
