1)I never lectured Ms*** on the morality of drinkingI simply asked(unnecessarily) why she's even drinking because she informed me of her numerous mental issuesShe also informed me that she had been attacked recently and I was genuinely concerned for Ms***In response to my
comment, she simply shrugged it off and demanded her liquorIn hindsight, I agree that it's none of my business what she chooses to do with alcohol. 2)I NEVER said that I'd communicate to any neighboring businesses that they don't have to serve Ms***In fact, I've been at this location for almost eleven years and I've only talked to one other business owner during that timeI did, however, say that if she brought that dog to the other stores in the area, they would probably react similarly to how I reactedIn hindsight, that was yet another unnecessary and misinformed opinion. After Ms*** left, I did some research on service dogsI came across this very helpful site: http://www.ada.gov/archive/qasrvc.htm Having read that FAQ, it's apparent that I was misinformed about service dogsAs stated earlier, I've been at this location for almost eleven years and this is the first such encounter I've had with service dogsThe dog was rather large(apparently, as are most service dogs) and my own phobia of dogs got the better of meMs***' assertion that I treated her 'very badly' is quite shockingI listened with interest to her stories and I was/am very empathetic towards her situation, especially regarding the story of how she was recently attackedIn fact, we were speaking for at least ten minutesI've never had a history of any type of discrimination nor do I plan on having such a recordMoving forward, should I encounter any such cases again, service dogs will be welcomed at C & L Diamond LiquorObviously, should she choose, this would also include Ms*** and her service dog.
