Customer by the name of M [redacted] and her husband were referred to me by another shop that had done some previous workI was told the shop Sharps Auto Service (O [redacted] ***) Saviers Road in Oxnard I was told he diagnosed a faulty engine and recommended the engine be replaced or repairedafter that repair the car was in limp mode code PAfterwards he called me for advice and have I seen that beforeI told him to go over his work an check all connectionsThat did not fix the problem so the costumer came to me an left the vehicle for diagnosis and repair on The next day we found a bank of resistors wired up to the ECM power supply which is 12VoltsThis is not an original part and was installed previous to us looking at the carAfter going through test procedures and pin points tests we found the instrument cluster to be faulty and needed it to be tested by a second party and verified for repairI contacted the customer as to what we found an recommendedthe the original est was hours at an hour total $Now that we determined there was a problem we recommended to have the ECM tested to verify that it was ok and in working conditionThat estimate came out to $that was including the original est with the $Customer dropped a deposit of $on Customer was well informed and agreed to the repairThe cluster and ECM were shipped to BBA remanufacturing where they found the Cluster to be faulty and unrepairableI paid to have the ecm tested further and it was found to be in working conditionI spoke to her husband who does not speak English an my Spanish is very limited that we are still trying to figure this outHe understood and came by a few times over the next few weeksI went online and purchased used and functional clusters based off of the part numbers provided on the original cluster Nothing got better so I sublet the car to another shop that I do business with and I informed the customer that they were trying to figure it out also and were stumpedAt this point that makes it shops trying to figure it out and to no availI was turned on to another company on the east coast by the name of Model ElectronicsI shipped the instrument cluster that was also diagnosed to be faulty by their tech to Model ElectronicsThey told me they could repair is and I gave them the ok to do soThat repair was on in the amount of $After I received the cluster I sent it back to Abc Auto Repair and I was told it did not fix the problemI was stumped and we all were frustratedAt this point we all were frustrated and stumped I talked to the customer once again and informed the husband that we are still diagnosing the carNot once was he upset but did express his frustration on the amt of time it is takingThen one night a man that was only identified as a relative or brother in law came over very upset and started to demand the car and the deposit backSo I arranged for the car to be towed back the following day and I will have the paper work and car will be put back togetherThey claimed to have nothing repaired but that is incorrectThe instrument cluster was repairedI thoroughly explained the situation to the wife and expressed how this is a rather unique repair that has stumped all of usNow I have no history or previous contact with neither Mr or Mrs A [redacted] but if they were to know me and my company that we go above and beyond to help any one which is rather upsetting to here that they have had this unfortunate experienceI explained how I was not charging for any other purchases or diagnosis and tow charges to and from ABC Auto Care in Ventura###.###.#### Diego [redacted] Market Street Ventura Ca if u have any further questions or concerns please call me E [redacted] ###.###.#### cell

I was told he diagnosed a faulty engine and recommended the engine be replaced or repaired. after that repair the car was in limp mode code P0650. Afterwards he called me for advice and have I seen that before. I told him to go over his work an check all connections. That did not fix the problem so the costumer came to me an left the vehicle for diagnosis and repair on 5.4.2015. The next day we found a bank of resistors wired up to the ECM power supply which is 12Volts. This is not an original part and was installed previous to us looking at the car. After going through test procedures and pin points tests we found the instrument cluster to be faulty and needed it to be tested by a second party and verified for repair. I contacted the customer as to what we found an recommended. the the original est was 2 hours at 75.00 an hour total $150.00. Now that we determined there was a problem we recommended to have the ECM tested to verify that it was ok and in working condition. That estimate came out to $975.00 that was including the original est with the $150.00. Customer dropped a deposit of $800 on 5.29.2015. Customer was well informed and agreed to the repair. The cluster and ECM were shipped to BBA remanufacturing where they found the Cluster to be faulty and unrepairable. I paid to have the ecm tested further and it was found to be in working condition. I spoke to her husband who does not speak English an my Spanish is very limited that we are still trying to figure this out. He understood and came by a few times over the next few weeks. I went online and purchased 2 used and functional clusters based off of the part numbers provided on the original cluster.  Nothing got better so I sublet the car to another shop that I do business with and I informed the customer that they were trying to figure it out also and were stumped. At this point that makes it 3 shops trying to figure it out and to no avail. I was turned on to another company on the east coast by the name of Model Electronics. I shipped the instrument cluster that was also diagnosed to be faulty by their tech to Model Electronics. They told me they could repair is and I gave them the ok to do so. That repair was on 6.26.2015 in the amount of $232.50. After I received the cluster I sent it back to Abc Auto Repair and I was told it did not fix the problem. I was stumped and we all were frustrated. At this point we all were frustrated and stumped I talked to the customer once again and informed the husband that we are still diagnosing the car. Not once was he upset but did express his frustration on the amt of time it is taking. Then one night a man that was only identified as a relative or brother in law came over very upset and started to demand the car and the deposit back. So I arranged for the car to be towed back the following day and I will have the paper work and car will be put back together. They claimed to have nothing repaired but that is incorrect.
