Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. This gentleman reports that his phone is on the do-not-call list. What he does not understand is that non-profit organizations are exempt. In this case, his alma mater was trying to reach him at one time for an alumni association membership, at...

another time for an annual gift. His case is further complicated because he shares both the phone number and alma mater with his spouse. She too was called to request a donation. Here are the permanent records of these solicitation attempts which were completed in compliance with State and Federal law (see TPCA):complainant: dialed 8 times between 9/11/17-9/26/17 to request a membership renewal; all dials ended in "no answer", there was no communication with any member of our staff.complainant: dialed 8 times between 5/19/17-6/29/17 to request a donation; all dials ended in "no answer", there was no communication with any member of our staff.complainant's spouse: dialed 10 times between 5/19/17-6/29/17 to request a donation; all dials ended in "no answer", there was no communication with any member of our staff.Kindly inform this complainant that it is very easy to be placed on any non-profit or for-profit telephone do-not-call list, even if there is a pre-existing relationship, as in this case. Simply answer the call on any of the occasions, say "please place me on your do-not-0call list", and hang up. That number will not be dialed again by the organization for the 5 years required by federal law. Our detailed records of every phone number dialed are extensive and validate that at no time did this gentleman, or any household member, speak to one of our employees, which would have been the fastest way to end calls. There were no numerous complaints or requests, as can be documented.Alternatively for those who do not wish to answer a call to make such a request, there is an automated do-not-call system. Simply dial the number displayed on your telephone's caller ID. Dialing that number will notify the constituent that the calls being attempted are on behalf of a non-profit, and to simply press a button on their phone to be removed from calling and p[laced on the do-not-call list for the 5 years as explained above. We've placed the reported telephone number on our internal do-not-call list, and will report it to the non-profit on whose behalf the calls were made. Again, thank you for reporting this complaint so that the gentleman will no longer be bothered by unwanted calls.

Review: In May of this year I was receiving some pretty harassing phone calls from a [redacted] (###-###-####) saying he was coming to my job to serve me with papers regarding an outstanding loan with PAYDAY Loan Yes that I had several years ago. The calls were so bad and so over the top that I actually believed him. That day I spoke with an [redacted] (###-###-####) and set up a payments to take care of the outstanding balance. The initial payment was made in the amount of $206.95 on 5/14/13 and four more payments once a month in the amount of $56.95. The entire thing would have been paid off in February. I became suspicious when the October payment was not taken out of my bank account and I tried to call the number this past Friday but number rang busy for the entire day. I then proceeded to pull my credit report which said I have nothing with any Collections Agency, then googled the actual company name and found several blogs on how this company was complete fraud and my exact same story from hundreds of other people. I called my bank immediately and thank goodness I had only given them my credit card number so the bank is sending me a new card and cancelled the old one. Unfortunately for me my bank cant refund the money since I had originally approved the charges. Wells Fargo did give me the number ###-###-#### that they found on the charge to call to see if I can get any information to prove that the charges were a fraud and when I called a man answered the phone saying something along the lines of his wife owned that company and sold it and he doesnt have the name or number for the new company. He just sounded like he was full of it. (wouldnt even give me his name) I had asked him how could a company that is taking money from me just be sold and not give me any notification. He wanted my name and number so he could have someone call me back but I refused to give him my information. In total they took from me $434.75.Desired Settlement: I would love all my money returned to me. The total taken was $434.75.
