I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
As a year home owner, I have never been told to re-seal a roof every years, in fact, I lived in several homes and this one 22yrs and the roof only leaked after a storm in in which a supposedly new one was put upin response to c@n's statement about service on a new car, if I bought a brand new car off the lot and it wouldn't start I would return itwe are talking about a leaking roof, not asthetics the warranty state "routine maintenance" not at any time does it state what "routine maintenance" is it also states that if the work is found to be the fault of the owner, they are not responsible, I would like to know when this determination was made, because they sure have not come to my homeI should not have to hire a 3rd party after paying thousands of dollars cash for a new roofI guess c@n doesn't want returning customers, or customer references( a happy customer is a returning customer), and one who refers others this is clearly not the case

In October C & N removed and replaced this roof In November we were called about a leak and went out and resealed around a pipejack where the mastic has separatedWe have not heard one word from Ms*** in almost three yearsShe called on 9/09/and was told at the
time that there would be a charge for regular, routine roof maintenance if there was no workmanship or materials defectsShe called our company names and said she was calling the ROC and hung up on usOur warranty states that after the first two years (during which all work and materials are our responsibility per the *** *** ** ***) Regular, routine roof maintenance must be performed, which includes sealing around HVAC, pipes, whirly birds, skylights, cracked mortar replacement on tile roofs, by the homeownerThe extreme weather that we endure here makes it important that this maintenance work be done
When you buy a new car and drive it off the lot and don't do anything to it for three years and it breaks down it is not a defective car- it just needed maintenanceSame situation with a roof, windows, air conditioning unit, or any part of a home- there must be regular, routine maintenance done to protect it.
We will come out to a customers house every year or every other year, or even every three years to perform regular, routine roof maintenance, but we do not perform the work for freeThere is a minimal charge for time and materials
C & N Roofing put a great roof on this home, it just needs maintenance to keep it in good conditionMaintenance is the responsibility of the home ownerThe warranty covers defects in the materials such as the shingles curling up at the ends or faulty workmanship such as the shingles all blowing off We feel that roof maintenance is the responsibility of the homeowner as stated in our warranty

She called our company names and said she was calling the ROC and hung up on us. Our warranty states that after the first two years (during which all work and materials are our responsibility per the [redacted]) Regular, routine roof maintenance must be performed, which includes sealing around HVAC, pipes, whirly birds, skylights, cracked mortar replacement on tile roofs, by the homeowner. We will come out to a customers house every year or every other year, or even every three years to perform regular, routine roof maintenance, but we do not perform the work for free. There is a minimal charge for time and materials.

C & N Roofing put a great roof on this home, it just needs maintenance to keep it in good condition. Maintenance is the responsibility of the home owner. The warranty covers defects in the materials such as the shingles curling up at the ends or faulty workmanship such as the shingles all blowing off.  We feel that roof maintenance is the responsibility of the homeowner as stated in our warranty.
