We are writing in response to the claim filed by our customer *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** ***.In Mr***'s complaint he fails to state that he added additional work to the original agreed upon project, therefore the job did take longer than the weeks estimatedWhen we
give a time frame it is just an approximate time, delays may occur due to weather or additional things being added to the projectWe have repeatedly told Mr*** that the walls are not made to walk upon and he is continually doing that, we no sooner glue all the caps down and he is either yanking on them or walking on them, therefore not allowing the proper time for the glue to adhere and get a good seal, We did acknowledge our problem with the sprinkler system and after several attempts to repair the system ourselves we decided at our expense to have a representative from Professional Irrigation come out to the jobsite and check out the system and repair itThe representative did just that and the sprinkler system is fully functional againWe do not offer any guarantees on seeding of any lawnsWe do our best when we originally seed to make sure we use enough topsoil, seed, fertilizer, compost, etcto help you get the best lawn possibleUnfortunately, we do not guarantee that all seeding will take, there is no possible way we can do thatWe were there on May 10, and completed all the seed and dirt work and it was signed off by Mrs***Mr*** also keeps insisting the backyard needs to be completely level, unfortunately if we do that, there will be water pooling everywhere when it rains, there has to be a grade for the water to be able to run offWe have issued him a credit for the sealing of his driveway. Our feelings at this point in time are that no matter what we do, Mr*** will not be SATISFIEDWe have gone above and beyond with all his issues and punch lists that he keeps presenting to us, we just are not sure what else can be done to make this man happy, we no sooner complete one list and he has another one, it has just been a never ending battle.I as the owner of this business feel that it would be best just to wash my hands of this manAlso, on another note he did the same thing to his previous contractor as well, so that tells me that this man will never ever be what you would call "A SATISFIED CUSTOMER".Rob C***PresidentC & R Landscape Development

We have paid a substantial amount of money to have walls rebuilt and damage to my property corrected in a timely, professional and aesthetically pleasing manner and there have been a multitude of issues regarding this. The majority of issues that we noted in our complaint have been communicated to C&R Landscape Development repeatedly over the course of this project and have not been corrected. Some of the issues are recent additions because the work related to the issue was just done or the issue was just discovered. As would be expected on a project of this size, new concerns are brought up as they are discovered. The wall rebuild (and damage remediation) project was estimated to take 4 weeks and was started at the end of October 2016. The additional wall project added about 20% to the total cost and about a week extra to the original 4-week estimate.  The extra work did take about a week but various landscaping/remediation issues remain uncorrected since 2016 on both the project and the additional work.In regards to the situation with the loose top caps - In an email from the C&R Landscape Development’s Office Administrator, we were directed as follows:  “Per Rob, a representative of C & R Landscape Development will be down within the next 48 hours to secure the caps.  Once they are secured please do not walk on them for at least 5 days, so the glue has time to adhere properly.”  This instruction would indicate that beyond the 5-day waiting period, it was permissible to occasionally walk on the top caps to access areas of the planting beds.  We reviewed Versa-Lok’s installation instructions and related technical bulletins for this Versa-Lok Mosaic Wall system and they are silent as to the issue of occasional light foot traffic.A C&R Landscape Development representative came on 6/13/17 and re-glued 50-60 top caps that were loose. Per C&R Landscape Development’s direction, we avoided walking on all the top caps. At this point in time, we still have unsecure top caps that need corrected. The sprinkler system was not fully functioning until 6/28/17, a full 51 days after C&R Landscape Development seeded the lawn.  Because of the sprinkler system not working correctly, we could not water the newly seeded lawn. It is not possible to germinate seed without a supply of water to keep the new seed moist.  In the areas where the system was not functioning, the grass is currently sparse and there are many bare spots throughout. In addition, Professional Irrigation caused further damage to the yard when they dug and repaired the sprinkler system, and C&R Landscape Development is refusing to repair that damage.  Per many face to face conversations, phone conversations, email communication and a contract addendum dated at the beginning of the project, it was agreed that the backyard would be made level. Currently, the backyard has an approximate 6% grade. According to Versa-Lok’s installation instructions they state to “Slope the soil slightly down and away from wall bases to eliminate water running along bases and eroding soil”. Based on my research, a 2% grade in a lawn is generally acceptable to accomplish the goal of removing water to avoid pooling and to also appear level.Other grading issues also exist.  In places, the grading is uneven and has high spots and low spots that need corrected.  In the areas between our property and the neighbor’s, rain water is being directed towards the top area of the wall, rather than the drain that is there. Due to this situation, water is pooling above the top wall when it rains. Versa-Lok instructions state “Wall sites should be graded to avoid water flows, concentrations, or pools behind retaining walls. If swales are designed at the top of walls, properly line and slope them so water is removed before it can flow down behind walls.”We would prefer that this project be completed and any issues be addressed and corrected. Unfortunately, that did not happen. We have tried repeatedly, via direct communications verbally, by email and by phone, to get these problems corrected by C&R Landscape Development. We are left with no choice other than to file a formal complaint with the Revdex.com against C&R Landscape Development as a first step to resolving these matters.
