To say the least my experience was disappointingWe were told this was the best home inspection company in the city So with 100% trust in Cabin to Castle to provide a comminted and trust worthy inspection and report; we received contradictory information verballyAnd then to cover any error in their verbal review of the home, we received a wish washy report something to cover their inspectionAs new home owners this was the first scare We were told of possible mold in the basementAnd then hired a plumber to confirm speculations, we were told other wise Now not knowing if anything in the report is true We contacted cabin to castle In our first attempt we explained to the receptionist the issueWe were told not to worry and a free air inspection would be warranted after speaking to the manager With all hopes that the manager would provide explanations and clarityWe received the opposite We were told we were lying What we were told at the time of the inspection was untrueWe received a argumentative and childish response rather than a professional manner The tone we would expect from the best home inspection company in the areaI was laughed at with his coworkers in the background and made me (the customer) feel like the fool I have never received such an experiance before Shocked and worried, these homes inspectors were trying to push the sale of the homeI knew contuing to argue would be pointless Now with this experience in past, I will hopefully be less negligent when needing a home inspection in the future

Worst Company around DO NOT USE!!!!!! The owner john treats his customers with no respectI bought last year a house that was a newer build had cabin to castle come in and do the home inspectionThey sent out two "inspectors" as they called them self's, they were at the house for several hours they gave me a report with a whole bunch of useless information in the report it said the house passed with flying colors and they had nothing to report I got the keys days later move in and days later there is plumbing leak (leaking from the master bath shower drain) in to the basement ceilingI called a plumber and they cut open the dry wall and there was mold as far as the eye could see, they advised there was no way this amount of mold was able to grow in the time since the inspection so it was there when the house was inspected In this report/ wavier they gave me they say they are not responsible for any finished areas or enclosed areas which I totally understand being that the basement was fully finished with the exception of the boiler room which was unfinishedIn the report they gave me there was pictures of the boiler and the heating systems in the home which was in the unfinished boiler room right above where the inspectors took the pictures of the systems there was mold in the open areas it was very noticeable upon viewing when I called cabin to castle they advised me to speak with the owner john at which time john informed me that I had signed a wavier and they were not liable and they he was insured and to do what I had to do as it had nothing to do with his company needless to say it cost me over $23,in repairs out of my own pocket I would not advise you to use them run the other way

In response to the complaint regarding the inspection preformed by Cabin to castle on July
In reviewing the report
completed by two of our inspectors, one of which is a senior certified master inspector, who has completed several thousand inspections with Cabin to castle, he is also one of our most requested inspectorsOur other certified licensed inspector and journeyman carpenter
I found this report to be very thorough, pages of required repairs, maintenance recommendations, and picturesThe damaged eavestrough is mentioned on page of the very detailed summary
We are not allowed to discuss mold under our agreement with ***, as it requires lab testing to determine toxicity and spore countWhich is explained in the contract signed and initialed by our client
The contract states:
And whereas the consumer acknowledges that the inspection does not cover nor include the investigation, evaluation, inspection or analysis of lawn sprinklers mold or asbestos
The consumer acknowledges this report is an opinion based on visual and non invasive exhaustive or all encompassing
I believe this inspection was preformed within the standard set out by *** and is above industry standards
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/11/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
MrD*** writes that the damaged eavestrough is addressed on page of the reportNo, it is not addressedThe 'damaged arm' is addressed, not the damaged eavestrough as specified in my complaint
MrD*** also does not address the neglect to respond to my questions or concernsInstead he boasts about the quality of inspectors on siteThe same inspector who told us it's to have water pooling beside an irrigation systemIf the inspection does "not cover nor include the investigation, evaluation, inspection or analysis of lawn sprinklers mold or asbestos" I would not expect comments such as those made either
Final Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2015/12/28) */
Cabin to Castle recognizes that our client is unsatisfied and we appreciate the feedback providedIn an attempt to move forward and rectify this situation in a timely fashion, Cabin to Castle is willing to replace the affected eaves trough which may or may not have been damaged at the time of inspectionMr D***' earlier statement regarding the irrigation system and possible mold in the attic stands as the signed contract clearly identifies the scope of the inspectionCabin to Castle can provide a contractor to replace the affected eavestrough OR a cheque in the amount of $can be mailedWe wish to move forward with this as soon as possible and we appreciate your feedback and patience
Sincerely,

To whom it may concern:
Cabin to Castle was called to the property to complete a pre-purchase home inspection. Many of the complainants' "missed items" are included in the report that was provided to them by our company
Information regarding the garage slab is listed on page and it also discloses that there were limitations to the inspection based on excessive clutter and shelving. There are pictures of the cracked slab included in the report The roof is listed on page and it outlines that the wall flashing is improperly installed and has pictures of the problem area. The shingles are also included on page and it was explained that due to almost complete snow cover it was impossible for an inspection to be done. This is unfortunately a hazard of purchasing a home in the winter. Even with the limitations it was noted that there was curling/capping shingles and some shingle deformation. It is noted that a re-evaluation would be needed when the surface was clear of snow.
The windows are listed on page and it is noted that there was weathering, cracking and warping. It is also noted that there is a gap present between the door and window frames and a missing pane. There are six pictures of this area in the report The exterior tap is addressed on page of the report and it is noted that the handle is damaged and there is an unsecured hose bib It is clearly outlined on our contract which was signed by the client that our inspectors are not invasive and that the roof inspection is condition dependent. It is our opinion that we completed the inspection to the best of our ability and well within the industry standards. The condition of the home was outlined and explained by professional and fully qualified inspectors and a detailed report was supplied to the client outlining the problems present in this home. it is not in our business practice to advise clients whether or not to purchase a property but rather to explain the condition of the home

Worst Company around DO NOT USE!!!!!! The owner john treats his customers with no respect. I bought last year a house that was a newer build 2007 had cabin to castle come in and do the home inspection. They sent out two "inspectors" as they called them self's, they were at the house for several hours they gave me a report with a whole bunch of useless information in the report it said the house passed with flying colors and they had nothing to report.... I got the keys 30 days later move in and 2 days later there is plumbing leak (leaking from the master bath shower drain) in to the basement ceiling. I called a plumber and they cut open the dry wall and there was mold as far as the eye could see, they advised there was no way this amount of mold was able to grow in the time since the inspection so it was there when the house was inspected In this report/ wavier they gave me they say they are not responsible for any finished areas or enclosed areas which I totally understand being that the basement was fully finished with the exception of the boiler room which was unfinished. In the report they gave me there was pictures of the boiler and the heating systems in the home which was in the unfinished boiler room right above where the inspectors took the pictures of the systems there was mold in the open areas it was very noticeable upon viewing when I called cabin to castle they advised me to speak with the owner john at which time john informed me that I had signed a wavier and they were not liable and they he was insured and to do what I had to do as it had nothing to do with his company needless to say it cost me over $23,000 in repairs out of my own pocket. I would not advise you to use them run the other way.

To say the least my experience was disappointing. We were told this was the best home inspection company in the city. So with 100% trust in Cabin to Castle to provide a comminted and trust worthy inspection and report; we received contradictory information verbally. And then to cover any error in their verbal review of the home, we received a wish washy report. something to cover their inspection. As new home owners this was the first scare.
We were told of possible mold in the basement. And then hired a plumber to confirm speculations, we were told other wise. Now not knowing if anything in the report is true. We contacted cabin to castle. In our first attempt we explained to the receptionist the issue. We were told not to worry and a free air inspection would be warranted after speaking to the manager. With all hopes that the manager would provide explanations and clarity. We received the opposite. We were told we were lying. What we were told at the time of the inspection was untrue. We received a argumentative and childish response rather than a professional manner. The tone we would expect from the best home inspection company in the area. I was laughed at with his coworkers in the background and made me (the customer) feel like the fool. I have never received such an experiance before. Shocked and worried, these homes inspectors were trying to push the sale of the home. I knew contuing to argue would be pointless. Now with this experience in past, I will hopefully be less negligent when needing a home inspection in the future.

I was referred by a friend who has used Cabin to Castle numerous times. He is a journeyman plumber and is very critical and has nothing but good things to say about them.
I recently used them myself for a home inspection on a property I was intending to buy, and I could not be happier! They saved me from taking on a lot more than I could handle on my first home purchase. The house was in need of major repairs and there was a lot of general maintenance that needed to be done. The owner was renting out both the upstairs and downstairs and had not kept the property maintained. I thought I was getting ready to buy something that would make me money, but there was too much that needed repair or replacement.
The realtor I dealt with on that property really didn't want me to use Cabin to Castle and said most realtors feel the same. In her opinion, they are overly critical. Personally, that's what I want in an inspection company! I found all the information they provided useful and not without merit. I am very happy with my report from Rob and Travis, they explained their findings in detail and answered all my questions. I would not hesitate to call them again. Thank you for the great service Cabin to Castle!
