Cabinet Wholesale Reviews (%countItem)

I hired Cabinet Wholesale to install a new kitchen. I dismantled my kitchen 12/21/19 to prepare for the installation. The company came to my house on 12/23/19 to take measurements. 12/30/19, I received a phone call at 8:24 am from the installation manager, to inform me that the installer would be there by 9:30 am, to deliver the cabinets and begin installation.
I had to call the office two different times (10:29 am & 12:13 pm) when they didn't arrive as promised. They arrived 3 hours late and I didn't receive any courtesy calls, informing me about the delay. I had a 3:00 pm appointment and had to leave my son with them. When I arrived home 2 1/2 hrs later, my kitchen was wet because the installer broke my pvp drain pipe out of the wall. Also, only 1 cabinet was installed. The installer left and didn't communicate when he would return to complete installation. 1/2/20, the installation manager called to say that the installer would be at my house by noon. The installer packed up and informed me that he had completed installing the cabinets and would return the following day to install the handles and toe kicks. I noticed an entire cabinet was missing and quickly sent an email to inform them. The owner delivered the cabinet the next day at 11:48 am. I waited home all day 1/3/20 for the installer's return and he didn't. Again, they didn't call. I hadn't heard from them and finally decided to call them on 1/6/20 after 3:00 pm. I had addressed the issues via email and in person to both the owner and installation manager, about defects with the cabinets, counter tops, and other issues. I'm extremely unhappy with the shoddy work performed. There are major issues with the installation of the cabinets, counter tops, & other things. They have been very dismissive of my concerns. Lack of professionalism, respect, and communication. Owner very rude and tries to intimidate me by threats. Company withdrew $2,270 from checking without permission. Claimed they did through a contract that's not my signature.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I would like this unscrupulous business to refund the cost of replacing my drain pipe that they broke and the counter top that was spliced and has a bold crack. Also, the counter top was cut too short and they extended it to the wall with 1/2 inch caulking.

Cabinet Wholesale Response • Jan 28, 2020

Cabinet Wholesale works very hard to meet or exceed our customer expectations. We have a lot of experience so we try to explain the process thoroughly and have developed a written agreement that the salesman goes over with the customer and the customer must read, initial throughout and sign before we accept any payment and begin the installation. The customer makes many complaints about the installation that are simply misunderstandings, half-truths and (sadly) lies arising out of an incomplete installation (about 95% complete) and the customer's refusal to allow us to complete the installation for which she received while keeping 100 percent of the cabinets and countertop without payment. Unfortunately, this project and the relationship with the customer became strained as the customer became increasing emotional and contentious after we sought an additional $600 for additional material to change the installed countertop to her satisfaction. Here, the customer was anxious to begin the installation during the Christmas through New Year holiday time, despite informing her that staffing would be limited due to the mid-week occurrence of the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve/Day and scheduled vacations - We informed the client of this and she wanted to go forward regardless. We admit that the installer broke the drain pipe (not an uncommon occurrence) but he fixed it immediately which delayed his ability to finish the installation of all of cabinets that day. The repaired pipe was shorter than the original and we explained that the plumber that she just needed to hire to connect the faucet and drain to the sink could simply connect a piece of additional pvc pipe that would not cost more than $5. We fixed our mistake and did not leave the pipe broken. The cabinets were all installed but for one wall cabinet. Since all the base cabinets were installed, we started the process to template, fabricate and install the countertop of which the customer also complains. From the beginning, this customer was price sensitive and lamented that she was spending her life savings on this project. With this understanding, we instructed the countertop fabricator to join two pieces of the material to complete a section of the countertop out of the single slab of material purchased (which is well withing industry standards for granite fabrication). We anticipated that if the customer did not like it she could purchase another half slab of matching material and we would not charge the her cost of the additional fabrication and installation. This is not an uncommon occurrence in this business, so common that our agreement directly addresses that the final price for the countertop material may be adjusted and may increase. Unfortunately, informing the customer of the $600 cost to make this change triggered a huge emotional response where we have been falsely accused of fraud, poor workmanship, use of defective and broken material, and targeting of a vulnerable, single woman for her life savings. While the customer claims she is the victim, the customer she is stealing from Cabinet Wholesale and employing a scorched earth tactic to impugn the good reputation for which we have worked so hard to develop, subjecting Cabinet Wholesale to bullying and defamation on the internet and to the Revdex.com. Cabinet Wholesale is in the business of selling and installing kitchen cabinets and countertops and simply wanted to install her kitchen for a fair price like it has done for hundreds of satisfied homeowners, businesses, and healthcare facilities throughout South Florida. The customer only paid the deposit, leaving Cabinet Wholesale at a loss after paying for 100% of the cost, the delivery and labor for 2 full days for the installation of the cabinets, 100% percent of the purchase, fabrication, and installation of the countertop. Throughout this installation, we have been responsive and acted to address the customer's questions and concerns, but after a certain point she cancelled an schedule installation appointment where we intended to complete the installation (which we set up at 4:00 pm to accommodate her work schedule), then refused to acknowledge our numerous requests to schedule a time to complete the installation and to pay for her project. Sadly, this situation occurs sporadically - this is not our first rodeo. We developed a comprehensive sales agreement with a former, practicing real estate litigation attorney with input from customers, sales people, designers and installers and which addresses our scope of work and the responsibilities of both the customer and Cabinet Wholesale. The sales agreement clearly allows Cabinet Wholesale to process payment from the customer's account (using the information as provided by the customer) according to our agreement to which the customer agreed "so long as the transactions correspond to the terms indicated in this Agreement." Every action that we took with this customer was in accordance with the agreement signed and initialed by the Customer. There have been no threats by anyone at Cabinet Wholesale, we did not forge anything, we did not force her to get a new kitchen this individual came to our showroom, initiated a design, received a quote which lead to a contract and the installation of a kitchen in this individual's home - this individual is the same person that received the delivery of the material and let the installers enter. While we strive to be timely to accommodate every one of customers, we don't schedule exact times for any appointment as we are subject to same irregularities and delays stemming from the brutal South Florida traffic as anyone else - it is simply unfair to anyone to schedule an exact time that our workers will arrive at any project. We communicate with our customers using the telephone, text, email, WhatsApp, Facebook, and in person. We have tried, even sending the installer on a Saturday afternoon to see if she would allow him access to finish the job. We try to keep it simple because we are just simple cabinet and countertop installers, we don't do electrical, plumbing, tile, painting or drywall, we don't bite and try to treat everyone with the respect they deserve. In final response, we can only ask for the same respect in return. Yet, instead of payment and an opportunity to complete the job we started, we have received unfair, untrue and ugly accusations. We still invite the customer to reach out to us so that we can complete the installation. If there are any further questions or concerns, we, everyone at Cabinet Wholesale, invite anyone to call or come into our Hollywood, Florida location to discuss it. We appreciate all the business in South Florida and we appreciate all of our customers.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept this company's response. I have attached an email from the owner which states that the kitchen was 99% completed. On the other hand, attached is another email from the installation manager that says otherwise. Attached are 2 inspection reports from other contractors who listed the issues with their installation. Videos are also attached depicting the shoddy work performed. It's apparent that I would have never been able to reach a compromise with this company. I was suppose to just accept and pay for shoddy work and not voice my concerns. This bad experience has definitely been an eye opener and a learning experience. I walked in with good faith but quickly learned that not everyone has integrity. Thank you.

Again, the customer stopped our installation before we completed it which is the source of all of her complaints about our workmanship. We invite the customer to allow us to finish her kitchen cabinet and countertop installation which should resolve the issues. If she remains dissatisfied with the seam in the countertop, the offer remains open that the customer can purchase additional countertop material for the price of the $600 only, no charge for fabrication and installation. I apologize for any confusion, if one email says 95% or another 99%, the point is that Cabinet Wholesale substantially completed the installation, but for one cabinet, and punchlist items, until the customer shut the project down. The customer has received delivery of 100% of the cabinets and countertop. Everything, the scope of work, and the customer's responsibility is spelled out in our agreement with her - even the possibility that the countertop material could increase in price. Again, we invite the customer to schedule an appointment to allow us to complete the work in accordance with the agreement. Thank you.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I did stop the completion of the installation because of the botched and unprofessional job that was done, and the refusal to correct issues that were done poorly on their part.(broken pipe, hole in the cabinet over the microwave, and the botched small piece of counter top) I could not allow them back in my house to cause more damage because I have to pay additional for their mistakes.

First of all, who splices a small piece (25 inches by 21 1/2 inches) of counter top? Professionals join large pieces of (granite, quartz, etc) counter tops. When professionally joined, the seem should have not been noticeable. Not only did they poorly join the two small pieces together to fabricate 1 piece of counter top, they still cut the counter top 1/2 inch short. They then used 1/2 inch of caulking to make it up for the shortage. I will not pay an additional $600.00 to correct their mistake.

I agree with their response that 100% of the cabinets and 3 different pieces of counter tops were delivered. They said that the work was 95% or 99% completed, however, 1 two door cabinet was in the box and wasn't assembled or installed, 3 cabinets weren't anchored to the wall, six drawers weren't installed, 24 handles weren't installed, toe kicks weren't installed, 1 cabinet door by the dishwasher cannot close properly, and 1 cabinet door by the refrigerator cannot open all the way because it's stuck on the frame that's around the refrigerator.

I am not accepting their invitation of completing the work since they are under the impression that only 1% or 5% is left to be done, in order to finish the job.

This has been an expensive learning experience and I have since moved on. Thank you very much.

Respectfully
