In August I received a phone call from a Bank Loan Officer who had a customer looking for an inexpensive alternative trike to a Harley or GoldwingI informed her that I was a Dealer for Ice Bear, out of California and could set her customer up with a new Ice Bear trike for around $
taxes title and registration includedA few days later the customer came to my shop and she presented herself as a knowledgeable motorcycle rider and stated she knew how to work and maintain themI told her that these machines were manufactured in China, that they were not a Harley or Goldwing, but for the price it was a good machine if maintained properlyI showed her a customer’s machine in the shop, explained the machine and that we could order her oneI explained the warranty policy (Parts are covered under this warranty to be free from manufacturer defects for months or miles whichever comes first & engine is covered to be free from manufacturer defect for year or miles, whichever comes first) and gave her the link so she could read it at her leisure(http://www.icebearatv.com/warranty)I also gave her the link for information of the trike (http://www.icebearatv.com/product/pst300-19) She said she had to arrange for the funds to buyWe made the deal and according to my records the machine was invoiced to her on 08/28/2014The Cost of the machine was $(including shipping from California), assembly and inspection charge of $250.00, title, plates and processing charges of and taxes of giving a total of $When she came in for delivery, I went over the trike showing her how everything worked and explained fuel and oil requirementsShe took it for a test drive and had a minor issue with shifting from reverse gear to forward gear because the shifter was a bit low for herI showed her how to do it and explained that she might want to practice some with itShe assured me she knew what she was doing and leftShe called one day and said she could not get it into reverse but forward was working fine and that she was bringing it back in for an inspectionWhen she arrived I saw that she had modified the shifter with a homemade shifter made out of what appeared an old pool cue which had changed the amount of throw needed to shift itI readjusted the shifter and ensure smooth operation free of charge and she left. On 9/25/she was on her way back with a running issue and the machine had quit appox miles from my shopI called a local tow service to go her and the trikeWhen she got to my shop she was quite upset about it quittingI inspected the trike and found that there was an issue with a jet in the carb, I asked her what kind of fuel she was running and she told me regular fuel with ethanolI informed her that I had told her not to run ethanol fuel due to it causing carb issues, if she could not get ethanol free fuel where she lived, that she was to run some Sea Foam with it to keep the carb cleanSince she was close to the mile service, I did that service and cleaned the carb jets, Invoice: Labor $65.00, engine and transmission oil $total with tax of 85.40.Towards the end of September 2014, I came in on a Monday morning to find the trike sitting in my lot, no note or message on my answering machineWhen I spoke to the customer she told me that it was leaking green stuffThis is where the problems beganInstead of having it towed, she attempted to drive it to the shopShe ran it out of antifreeze, overheated it to the point that it quit and damaged the motorShe was really mad calling me and the manufacture namesI told her that customer abuse is not covered under warranty; however, I would contact the Distributor in California and see what I could work outAt this time she demanded her money back, I told her that was not going to happen due to her willful misuse and abuse of the machineShe admitted that she rides the machine on gravel and off roadHad she had it trailered or towed to the shop instead of riding it the cost of repairs would have been under $for a broken coolant lineI again told her that I would see what I could work out with the DistributorI spoke with the Distributor and explained what happened and that she didn’t have much money and what could we do for her under good customer relationsI was able to get them to supply the parts needed for repair, she would be responsible for the labor, and she still wasn’t happy and wanted it all for free or her money backAfter explaining policy and warranty again she agreed to the repairsI reduced my labor time for her, removed, rebuilt, and reinstalled the motorTotal shop time was over hours and I charged her for Invoiced on 11/07/total with tax $When her and a friend came to get the machine she was still unhappy and was trying to make every excuse she could think of not to payAt this time I informed her of our agreement and that the Distributor and I had broke from standard policy to help her outHer and her friend loaded the machine with the help of me and another customerAfter she left, the other customer was really surprised had how well I handled the situation. I did not hear from the customer again until August 2015, when she called and told me she had found a mechanic closer, however this shop was not an Ice Bear dealer and wondered if I would sell them partsBecause of her past actions, stories and abuse, I was hesitant, but told her I wouldThe shop called me and ordered the $part that they neededThis was the last time I had heard from this customer.Observations and OpinionI feel that this complaint is totally unfounded and fraudulent, considering the time lapse from initial purchase until nowI can only guess the reason for this complaint is that the trike did not start after winter storageI also feel that we have done more than another shop would have done to appease this customerWe have been in the same location in a small town of people since and pride ourselves in customer service and low prices while still being able to make a livingI have not had a customer complaint in all that time, which you can check your records to verifyWe ship all over the United StatesI have had customers from Ohio, Arkansas and Indiana drive up to my shop Wisconsin to buy from me because of my reputationWe belong to several scooter boards providing tech support and information at no chargeI also do tech support for Ice Bear customers at no charge.As far as the product is concerned, I have many happy customers who own these trikes with little or just minor issuesIn fact, I have one customer who owns of the exact trike that this customer has, one for him, one for his wife and one for shows and just loves them. In my opinion, this customer will come up with anything she can to blame others for her actionsWhen she does not get her way she gets abusive, which she has done to me in my shop in the presence of othersI can just imagine what she comes up with nextI also feel that she has attacked my credibility and spotless record with her unfounded and misleading year old complaint.*** ***/Owner/Rapid Repair ***

He wasted my chance on this so called warrenty.   after he took the motor apart nothing has worked like the first time It worked .  I have paper work that I can  send. tell me where to sent it .
