was required to leave the cabin tidy and damage free. Upon sending our housekeepers over on his checkout morning, it was immediately reported the place was a complete mess. Dishes were in the sink and all over the counters. We have a sign right in the kitchen stating: In order to continue to pass along our "no fee"savings, we ask that you wash and put away any dishes used . " Further, there was trash inside and outside of the cabin. The screens had been punched out. There were handprints all over the mirrors and some form of icing smeared along the walls. We have pictures and statements from our housekeepers. They logged in 4.5 cleaning hours on a normally 2 hour clean. Our maintenance person had to go replace the screens and pick up the trash in the back. We do advertise "No Fees". The normal guest who checks in and leaves the unit/cabin tidy has a fully voided authorization which occurs 99.9% of the time. This is one of the handful of times we have withheld an authorization. We keep our cabin prices fair and reasonable and do not add on hidden fees at the end. To pass on cleaning fee savings and keep our prices reasonable, we explain to all guests and have signs to keep the cabin tidy, wash up dishes used (in this case put them in the dishwasher), gather and dispose of trash. That is all. However we do not expect to wash walls, mirrors from top to bottom, stained rugs etc. The [redacted] family are rude and inconsiderate to have left the property in that condition. No one asked them to "clean" the cabin, but certainly not leave it in the pigsty which they did. There is no false advertising here. We will refund the authorized funds as it was used to pay for the additional housekeeping and maintenance issue above normal wear and tear.
