Cable Doctor

Review: I had visited [redacted]'s (Cable Doctor) computer repair shop for some minor issues and his worker (I don't know his name nor do I care to). Some issues were not fixed, as a matter of fact none of them were. He asked how I knew (for instance the remnants of my old anti-virus and flash player) they were not fixed and I told him how. This happenned earlier this year when I was into computers only a few short months. He and his worker or should I say hacker played on my limited knowledge of computers then. I know a lot more now. [redacted] did give me back half of the money. As some time went by I noticed my disk space going down drastically. I started getting suspicious. I was checking things out and discovered a "[redacted]" and some other name merged in with my account. I just deleted it. Then at a later time I discovered it again under my wireless settings as "[redacted]" and again I just deleted it. Finally, I called the shop to tell his worker what I had discovered. He told me quite unprofessionally "talk to my boss" and slammed the phone on me. Soon after that telephone incident I noticed about 8 different unsecured networks when I clicked on my wirerless settings icon on the taskbar. Optimum.xfinity, TWC, and since he ran out of names (this is what I beleive) some others were made up like [redacted].ny, cable [redacted] and even Metro [redacted] (which coincidently is down the block from the shop on 14 st. not 145 16 st like it claims on your site. My right to privacy has been ruined and I am afraid to email or receive email from trusted family members because of this. I have stage one cancer and hepatitis C and the stress is making me feel worse. I am even afraid of posting family pictures on my pc. This man NEEDS to be investigated because I don't believe I am the only one. There is a whole network on my pc that is unsecured all with similar names and no matter what time I put my pc on, be it 2p.m. or 2 a.m they are there. I have watched 3 or 4 come on or off at the same time! I would greatly appreciate if you professional people can help me because this has put me in a bad depression. Thank you kindly!Desired Settlement: Pay for the cost of my pc. I had to have my hard drive reinstalled twice not to mention how many times I had to have my systen reinstalled and the other half of the money that I believe should have gotten from [redacted] in the first place. I don't know what kind of a network is installed on my pc. It could involve some sort of illegal activity but I won't know for sure until this matter is looked into.

This customer came in on March [redacted] 2013. She picked up her laptop the next day and we showed her that everything was working fine. The next day she stormed in (without her computer, we have video of her tantrum) and was so abusive, cursing and yelling at us saying we had hacked her computer. We were unable to get her to calm down and be civil that we finally gave up and had told her that we would not work with her anymore. She asked for a 50% refund as a settlement and to get rid of her we agreed and paid her off.

In regard to her comment about [redacted] in [redacted] Wi-Fi log that could be so. In the course of fixing the virus in her flash player we logged on to our secure network. There is no network installed on her computer, but she would see that in her Wi-Fi log, but in no way is that a problem.

We have been in business since 1996 at this location and if we did anything like she accuses us of we couldn’t remain in business. Whatever issues she has do not stem from us.

We have settled with her so this issue is resolved.
