Cactus Jack's Auto Sales Reviews (68)

Review: I purchased my vehicle, a 2010 [redacted] Focus SES, from Cactus Jack's Auto Sales Camelback location on February 7, 2012.

[redacted], my salesmen, let me test drive the car and went over the financing terms and cost of the vehicle. I put a down

payment of $2,000 and agreed to semi-monthly payments of $230.00. The paperwork I was given at the time of purchase

consisted of the following: Retail Installment Sales Contract and Purchase Money Security Agreement; a Vehicle Purchase

Order; and Buyer's Guide (Warranty). The Buyer's Guide stated the vehicle came with an implied warranty of 12,000 miles/

1 year power train, however, considering the car was two years old at the time of purchase, it still should have had the

original manufacturer's warranty from [redacted]. I reviewed my warranty book in my glove box and found this to be correct.

When my vehicle began to have mechanical issues I decided to take it directly to a [redacted] dealership considering it still had

the warranty. When I spoke with the mechanic I told him my horn did not work, my alarm did not make noise, the car

veered to the right and due to these alignment issues I needed to replace my front tires several times at an out of pocket cost,

my car also jumped and sometimes turned it's self off when idling. I left the car with the dealership only to be called

15-20 minutes later by the [redacted] dealership informing they could not honor my warranty due to the car having a salvaged

title and the warranty was voided. Cactus Jack's never informed me the vehicle was salvaged, and since you do not receive

the title until after the loan is paid off, I had no way of knowing the status of the title. I am presuming Cactus Jack's was

aware the title was salvaged, however, since they neglected to inform me prior to or after the purchase of the vehicle,

I feel they are obligated to reimburse me the full sales amount.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of full sales amount

Review: On 4/26/2014 I went to Cactus Jack's to purchase a vehicle, the sales guy [redacted] did not let me test drive the vehicle, he stated that I was only approved for 3 vehicles and he was giving me the best one. I was in a bad situation that day and he could tell I had been crying I feel he took advantage of my desperate situation, I asked him questions about the paperwork I was signing he said " oh it just stuff the dealership needs" he would not explain. He ran my bank card for $612.00 and then went and got the keys, I went in alone and explained to him I could not drive both vehicles at one time I would have to come back and find someone to drive the car he was trying to sell me. He said fine he would park it on the side I asked him if I could look at it he said yeah well when you come back it will be parked on the side. I never seen the vehicle until I went back with a friend and took the vehicle. As she was driving it it was pulling hard to the left, the car would jerk very hard every time it shifted (it was automatic transmission) and the check engine light came on. By that time the dealership was closed and locked up, so I took the vehicle back on 4/27/14 handed the keys back to [redacted] the original sales guy and explained I did not want this car and that he took advantage of my situation and I needed my card to be credited back the $612.00, he said no it would not be refunded and they would report it on my credit as a repossession and they were going to file an abandoned vehicle report on the vehicle and they were going to fine me $500 and suspend my drivers license. I told him I would report them he said he did not care that they would win. I left the car at the dealership and gave the car to [redacted] on 4/27/14, less then 24 hours after taking the car. I called a different Cactus Jacks I did not explain my situation I told them I was asking their opinion on a different dealership and they said yes I had 72 hours to return a vehicle that any fair dealership would understand. So I knew that what [redacted] was telling me was not true. On Monday evening I got a call from [redacted] at Cactus Jacks and he said the car had been repaired and I could come and pick it up. I explained I did not want the car the car is not safe to drive, that [redacted] took advantage of my desperate situation and I cancelled the automatic payments to them from my bank. I told him I wanted a credit on my bank card and they were not to do the tags and registration because I do not want the car and I explained that I had 72 hours to change my mind. I explained the lemon law to him, he said it was not true I did not have 72 hours and he would report me to DMV that I abandoned the vehicle and fine me $500 and he would make sure they suspended my drivers license, and he would report it as a repossession on my credit report. I told him to stop threatening me that I was within my rights he said no I had to take the car. I again explained he said he didn't care about all that and he would win and make good on his word. I told him I would not listen to his threats and told him have a good day and hung up the phone. On 4/29/14 I called DMV explained what [redacted] and [redacted] had said and she said they could not report it as an abandoned vehicle because it was not abandoned they have the keys and I left it on there property and informed them it was there and to cancel the contract. The lady at DMV also said I do have time to change my mind and I needed to report the dealership to dealer services and make a complaint to abandon vehicle unit, as well as sending them (Cactus Jack's) a notification by fax or email of my demand to not process the title and registration. I have done all that DMV has suggested I do. I hope that the Revdex.com can help me.Desired Settlement: I want a credit of the $612.00 for the down payment of the car I did not get, I want to make sure they do not do the title and registration in my name as I left the vehicle on their property and gave the keys to the original sales guy. I want to make sure they do not file the abandoned vehicle paperwork and hurt my credit more by reporting it as a repossession. Also want to make sure they do not attempt to take payments from my bank card. They are a horrible dealership and take advantage of people with bad credit.

According to our records Ms. [redacted] came into our location on 04/26/14 purChated a 2003 silver Saturn Ion. She signed all paperwork and took advantage of our 12 month 112000 mile w rranty by signing up on recurring payments. [redacted] then returned on 04/27/14 said didn't want the vehicle anymore and dropped of keys. She informed the salesman the check engine light came on. The car was taken to our servi¢e department and fixed on 04/28/2014. We tried several times to contact the customer to advise her veHicle was fixed and she could pick it up from service. I We received an email from her on 04/29/14 stating she would do anything shJ could to get the word out about our company taking advantage of people with poor credit. This is not a rue statement we go far and beyond to satisfy our customer with service issues. Ms. [redacted] would not answ r our phone calls so we could resolve her issue.

As a courtesy we have deleted her recurring payments and refund her down payment. We also will not report as a voluntary repo to her credit. I

We feel we have satisfied this complaint and would like to close it. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. If there is any further questions please feel free to contact me.

Review: On 04/18/2013, I purchased a 2006 Chrysler Sebring from Cactus Jacks ($1,500.00 down payment, $420.00 per month) and since the sale the vehicle has constantly had maintenance problems ranging from defective power windows/ security system electrical failure which impacted the whole car, Convertible motor defective, the vehicle shutting down while driving on the hiway with no warning(safety hazard), AC failure(complete) to transmission problems(car idles at 30MPH when stopped/in park) and finally the cars total brain defective actions(all controls/gauges going crazy). Vehicle was not presented in the manner that these problems existed eventhough it is a used car by dealer salesperson and when I presented these problems to dealer's mechanic([redacted]) the reply I received was "You dont have to keep the car, we'll just sell it to someone else". I thought eventhough I didnt have to go thru a credit check, etc, that would normally be performed when purchasing a vehicle at least for $420.00 per month, the car would be in better shape than a piece of junk with a descent paint job to throw people off the mechanical problems. Showed the car to a certified mechanic and his response was "All cactus jacks does is buy auction cars, regardless of problems, qucik fix them to get them off the lot and charge 100% more than what the car is worth". Cactus Jacks are a rip off organization, regardless of the commercials they put on TV fooling people into thinking they sell quality cars. Vehicle was voluntarily given back on 09/06/13 at 1430 hours(cactus jacks hired tow truck)Desired Settlement: Eventhough I signed a "Voluntary give back" form(which cactus jacks customer service didnt want me to sign or give me a copy), I do not want Cactus Jacks to lie and try to report on my credit that this situation was a "repo" when I voluntarily gave back the vehicle and requested cactus jacks to pick up the car. Other than an apology, I do want not any contact with this organization any further.

Cactus Jacks did not have the opportunity to diagnose any issue

with car and fix it. Mr. [redacted] refused to let service fix the vehicle. We

would have appreciated the opportunity to resolve this issue but Mr. [redacted]

Review: I purchased my vehicle with no issues or problems, shortly after purchasing my vehicle I had a family member that needed a car and I had 2 so I allowed him to drive the vehicle in which he also made the payments on it. I moved out of state due to work and family relocation. My family member fell behind on a few payments then would catch back up. Well at one point he fell behind by 3 payments as to which I was unaware, in short the vehicle was repossessed, when he went to pay what was owed and get the vehicle back he was told that only I was able to get the car out, which I understand is protocol since I am the only one on the contract. I called and spoke to someone at Cactus Jacks, which everytime I have ever spoken to anyone in that place they are ALL very very rude and disrespectful, they all seem as though the customer never matters, they are never helpful and always have an attitude, I spoke to a young woman who told me that I was basically out of luck and I had to fly back to get the car out and I only had 10 days to do so, I explained to her I was out of town and not able to come in and stated I could provide a letter from my employer that I was no longer in AZ, she told me that didn't matter that I had to get the car out and hung up on me. The following day my family member went down to cactus jacks to see if he could be financed and possibly get the car into his name. While I was on the phone with him I could hear the girl stating that I could write a letter giving him power of attorney to the car and he would be able to get the car out. I wrote the letter up and was on my way to have it notarized when he called and said cactus jacks changed their mind, which to me isn't an appropriate response, all of their dicisions and choice seem to be on a personal level not a business and protocol and legal level, it seems as though if you make someone mad or upset they take it personal and use it against you and are unwilling to help you. I then called to see how my family member would be able to get his belongings out of the car such as their newborns baby carrier and diper bag and a few other things, the young womans response was "buy a plane ticket and come get the belongings yourself", I explained to her again that I am out of town and not able to afford a plane ticket just to get the belongings, I then asked her if I could send a copy of drivers license and my family member actually has the key so when he drops off the key can he get his belongings, and at this point I still have not heard anything back. I received a letter in the mail stating they are selling the car at auction and if they make what the current balance is then I wont have a balance owed but if they sell it for less then I owe then I will still have a remaining balance. I personally believe a business should not be ran this way, not only is the staff severely rude and unwilling to help, my cousin has been paying a steady $500 dollars a month, when I gave him the car to use there was only $5000.00 left owed on the car, I called a little over a month ago to see what the remaining balance was on the car and it was OVER $6000.00 dollars! It went up! how is this possible and when I asked how it worked that way not one employee could explain it to me. This place is full of crooked people who don't care what so ever about their customer. Buying a car from this place has been one of the biggest mistakes in my life and I will forever regret it and I hope they are put out of business soon, I have now been made aware by many other people who have had serious issues with them also.Desired Settlement: To be able to obtain the property in the car and explanation as to how the balance is now more then when I started and an explanation as to why no one else in my family was able to help with the car when they began to tell me I was able to turn over power of attorney, then all of a sudden changed their mind.

Review: I have bad experience with Cactus Jack theaylied to me at the purchase of the vehicle iI ask the salesperson if the vehicle ever been in an accident and I found out that it had bondo and it was repainted I have been treated with bad customer service ever since I bought the vehicle and now I have problems with them.I was one payment behind and theay reported the vehicle I called them and told them that I have the full payment and they lied to me again this had to go and pay the payment and they will give me some papers to sign but they never told me that the vehicle is going to be in a different location and they close at a certain hour and my girlfriend is present it will hard to git around without the viecol if the at give me the runaround .the thing I want is thevehicle back and be treated fairDesired Settlement: Stop lying to the people and be honest don't steal from the honest people .I want theam to fix the problem that I have I have 5 kids I cannot be without a vehicle.and my girlfriend is pregnant and she needs the vehicle for her doctors appointments .pls

Review: I purchased a vehicle from cactus jacks on December 26th. After driving off the lot the check engine light came on and the engine itself took approximately 6 to 7 seconds to actually turn on. I took the car to a work shop and they checked the codes for the engine and it was determined to be either an 02 censor problem or the cadillac converter. I returned the car on December the 30th, which was the next possible day to do so. I returned the keys and informed them I no longer wanted the vehicle as they sold me a vehicle that was defective and did not make me aware of the issue. I was refused the $500 refund that I used as a down payment and was instead instructed to take time out of work to take the vehicle to the corporate store so they could "fix" the car. My issue is that I didn't purchase a faulty vehicle. All I'm asking for is the down payment back. I was mocked by the staff, and management at the corporate store.Desired Settlement: Full refund of down payment of $500.00. I'm not even asking to be reimbursed for the tank of gas I had to put in it.

Review: Purchased 2007 Chrysler Sebring with 54,000 miles. Great looking car etc. This is my 2nd car through them. First experience was terrible. Had mechanical issues from the moment I drove off. Of course the 15 days you get for a warranty didn't help much when they keep your car for days on end. To only get it back with nothing repaired.

The sebring had issues from again 10 mins after I drove off. Terrible clunking in front driver side, hard to control as the steering wheel would stay still. Took it down 2 times, waited all day... only to drive it 25 miles home and same issues. Was told certain things were fixed, yet they are still happening. I finally decided to take it to my mechanic as I have a son and was afraid of what was wrong with it. He asked me what mechanic would have let you drive in this car???? Nothing was tightened all was loose under car. Sub frame nolts, Rack and Pinion bolts, Tie Rods and a missing fire wall column boot. This is a small part of what I am STILL dealing with. Why $420.00 monthly payment and this is what happened from day 1 and with the 2 cars I have? Would they put their kids in these cars? My mechanic told me I should not drive this vehicle as is, it is not stable and the way it is could cause a bad car accident? Yet these guys got their money and sent me on my way in a death trap. Its shameful and as I sat in the service department waiting for 8 hours for zero work to be done. I heard at least 10 people in and out griping about the same things with their vehicles. I have all documents from my mechanic stating exactly what they did not do and letting me leave after they did work and not securing bolts.Desired Settlement: I will not take my car to be serviced there. Clearly they do not care if you have an accident. I don't care what they do, they sure as heck get their payment. Shouldn't mine be adjusted? What about all that I had to spend within 7 days of buying my car? Again they want to dispute.... Perfect. I was smart this time around with this car and have mechanic records and failure on their part. Own up and please do the right thing.
