Review: In the end of December I went to Cactus Jacks' off of [redacted]. in [redacted], AZ. I traded in a 1991 Ford Tempo for a $500 credit towards the purchase of a 2001 Chevy Malibu. The first day I had the car the check engine light came on. I brought the car to them and they sent me to an outside repair place to get the Catalytic Converter replaced ([redacted]). At the same time the dash lights and the tail lights did not work either. When I purchased the car the radio didn't work. They did replace that. After the catalytic converter was replaced, the check engine light came on again. I brought the car to them and they checked and saw that the outside repair place put on and rigged a smaller catalytic converter which needs to be replaced AGAIN. They gave me the car with a quart and a half too much oil. Then last Monday January 26th 2015, the car over heated and I had no turn signals or tail lights. There was a crack in the reservoir. They replaced the reservoir and said they fixed the tail lights and turn signals. Then Sunday February 1st 2015 I was pulled over by the police to let me know that I had no tail lights or turn signals. I brought the car in to them yet again and said the relay was rusted and prongs were broken and that's what ws causing the short. However, at times I still do not have a left turn signal and when I turn on the hazards it goes back to normal. Then on February 5th 2015, the car completely shut down on me in the middle of the street and locked up so I had to push it to the [redacted] and it would not start again. They had to come pick it up with the tow truck and I missed another day of work. The first two weeks of owning the car I had nothing but problems. I mentioned to them the "Lemon Law" and they stated that it doesn't apply if they are repairing the car when it fails.Desired Settlement: [redacted] at the service department has been great. He has fixed the car whenever I have had a problem. This complaint is not against them as people but against the car they sold me. My request is that they get me into a reliable car of equal value. I have missed 4 full days of work and would like a credit on my account for those days as well (2 of those days have been in the same week). It is ridiculous that you buy a car from a reputable company that has an A+ with the Revdex.com and I have had the car in their service depatment more than I have driven it. Somethings got to give!!! Also, I have tried to get a corporate number for their locations and no one seems to have a number or anyone I can speak with regarding my requests.

Review: June 15,2013 went to the Avondale Cauts Jacks auto dealership, found a car, asked if the car had past AZ smog, a legal, smog that AZ would have listed in their records. I was told yes, the car past smog. I paid for plates, a large payment, was given the 6 month 6000 mile warranty. ad the carh put both in my name and my grandsons name as well so all seemed good. Then first, they didnt put the car in both names, and had the wrong address. then Aug 2013 the power seat motor went out, not covered. End of Sept. AC went out. In Feb 2014 found out the car had to have smog for renewal. It didnt pass, found out it was not smoged in 2013 by dealship, they did a little test that AZ allows, but is not what is needed for renewal. And the car failed for the same reason twice in 2012 as it did in Feb2014. I called the sales person to see if they were going to repair it, as this is the one thing I asked about many times before buying the car...it had to pass AZ smog and [redacted] said yes it did, you will have no problem. Well to date no one there will admit they failed to have an OBD inspection done on the car. If they had, it would have failed. As there is only 7000miles on the car from the time I bought it. I even asked if they would defer 2 payments to the end of the loan to allow me to repair the car so that it would pass , as it is costly repairs that would not even been under there warranty. I called many times and always told "[redacted] will be back in 20 mins" [redacted] takes a lot of 20 min breaks. The main office guy"[redacted]" said he didnt know why AZ has no record of the smog, and they must not be telling me the truth, AZ said only OBD inspection goes into their system, not those little pink slips that catus jacks does to say it passed smog, No one but them really knows if it passed as it in not hooked into AZ system when the car is being checked. I was lied to by [redacted] who said it would pass AZ smog, I have been just left hanging, and now not one friend or family will use them for any reason, would not go back either.Desired Settlement: Catus jacks pay my repair shop for all repairs needed to pass obd inspection for AZ. Plus the 15.00 30 day pass to drive the car. I do not want them to fix anything, as we know how that works already. I have had 2 est. done, and will take the lowest, but will not allow catus jacks to do the work. They are not honest

We do understand the confusion between a smog test and an OBD2 test. The consumer did her research and found out Cactus Jacks is just trying to help her out. We are not obligated to do so but we are going to take care of the customer in the name of good customer service.

Regards,
The business has stated they would allow me to make payment arrangements for repairs, of which I can not afford to make loan payments and repair payments of this kind,The also offered to fix the on failed check engine light. I am now to the understanding that smog and obd2 is different here is AZ but will not be much longer. Which is of no help to me. I am going to have to let the car sit for months to come as other items are going to be needed in order to pass the obd2 test than was first thought. I will not recommend the dealerships, as I did tell the manager where I bought the car of the ongoing problems from 8/2/2013 on, but did not ask them to repair them as they were not covered under warranty, but he smog was something I asked many many times that it did indeed pass, and was told it did before I bought the car , my mistake is not knowing that here in AZ there is 2 different smogs, and at this point dealers do not have use obd2 test so the buyer beware. I am done with them, I can not take the car in even for the check engine repair at this point. Maybe at some point I will be able to do so if the other repairs are done in the future, as it is becoming more costly than first thought

I am confused. We had an appointment to fix Mrs. [redacted] vehicle on March 6th but she never showed up for the appointment. We had the finance company
defer one car payment to the end of her loan so she could afford to get her car fixed. We would like to help her but she is not letting us.
Sincerely,

Regards,
This issue was not resolved, and I did take there show of kindness to defer a payment to cover the first round of repairs to pass smog, but that proved to be more costly than the they told me. the interest in one week jumped to 137.00 and daily interest was at 2.97 and going up daily. Now I owe way more and still have over 400 in repairs to hopefully pass smog. It seems that this state allows some used car dealerships to just write off a car stating it passed emission testing when it was not a state OBD test. No one can prove that the car passed emission after 2/2012 to the time I bought the car on 6/13...there is only a little paper that the dealer signs saying it passed. I know owe the higher interest amortized daily, plus the rest of the repairs. I have no use for an illegal car. The items that broke last summer I didn not expect them to repair, so I didnt even ask, but I asked so many times if the car passed state smog..misled just like the deferment. There mechanic even told me that ALL used car dealerships do smog like them,,,found that to be very untrue, as on of the dealers on the same block take there used cars to state emissions, and have the proof. This is a con company. Would not recommend them to anyone.
Cactus Jack's in Mesa is one of the few places that people with bad credit can go to and get a decent car. If you have a smartphone you can use Carfax Mobile and have VIN checked which I did on a Hyundai Santa Fe. The car had only one issue and was easily fixed. You have to do your homework when you buy a used car. If you do, you will find that things are fine.
I went to Cactus Jacks to look for a used car. I had been to several of the new car dealers that sold used cars and felt pressured and manipulated into buying something quickly. I had a much better experience at Cactus Jacks; less pressure, they spent more time explaining the financing to me and they had a nice selection to choose from in my price range. I ended up buying a car and feeling good about the experience and the deal I got.
I went to buy a car and had a really good experience. I was treated nice and not pressured by the sales person. This was my first time and I was unsure what to expect. I test drove 4 cars and got the one I want. I will send my friends for sure.
Me and my boyfriend went in and got a decent car with no noticeable issues from Cactus Jacks. Although the check engine light did just come on we will see how that situation turns out. But overall they were very organized, informative, had a great sense of humor, and got us in and out in an hour with a car the same day. I say customer service is a 5 so far! We will see what happens about this check engine light... to be continued...
My car I financed through cactus jacks had stopped running twice in then year I had it. When I brought it to their own auto body shop, a lugnut from their yard caused my tire to blow out while driving & they actually charged me to replace it. When I brought the car the man who sold me it was rude and I asked him a simple question about if insurance is higher on a red car. He told me insurance companies don't ask for the color. I told him they get it from VIN number. I am really disappointed in the high price and so much money I put into car and continue to put because they didn't have a decent car on lot for me
Review: On May 11, 2015, I purchased a 2005 PT Cruiser from the Cactus Jacks Mesa location. I was in desperate need of a vehicle, and was only able to afford a $500 deposit, so I knew my options would be limited. About 2 and a half weeks later, the car heated up. I was terrified, forced to pull over on the side of the highway (my commute is from Chandler to Phoenix), and had to ask a family member to help me get home. My husband drove the vehicle back to our house, where it sat (in our driveway) until I was able to request a day off of work to take the vehicle in for service. On June 1st, I took a day off of work and managed to take the vehicle to [redacted] in Mesa, where instructed. They "fixed" the problem (repaired only), and seemed to work fine for a few days. Only a week later, they car heated up once again. This time, smoke was filling from under the hood. I called Cactus Jacks once again who then asked that I take the vehicle in for service. On June 10th, I had to request yet another day from work in order to be able to take the vehicle in for service, as I do not have any other means of transportation. They seemed to have "fixed" the problem once again, however, I'm driving the vehicle in fear that this issue happens again only this time, (God forbid) be involved in a major accident.Desired Settlement: This complaint is not intended for the staff. As a matter of fact, every time I have called or had any contact with their staff, they have been very friendly and provided great customer service. This complaint is for the product that was sold and the lack of professionalism when it comes to offering solutions. I understand my rights, and know the time frame applicable to Lemon Laws. On the other hand, I do not feel the need to extend this complaint to legal services (yet). My desired outcome would be either A: exchange this vehicle for a more reliable vehicle with no mechanical issues - which can be trusted and make my commute less fearful; or B: reimburse for the time I was forced to take from work in order to fix an issue on a vehicle I purchased less than a month prior.

We are sorry Ms. [redacted] experienced problems with her vehicle. She drove the vehicle for 1000 miles and came in with the problem of her cooling fan. We tried to fix the connection. We also noticed her front brake pads were almost ready to be replace. We replaced them for free. The repair on the fan connector did not work. She brought the vehicle back in and we replaced the entire connection assembly. The repairs were all covered under warranty. I feel the company did a great job with customer service. I would like to offer Ms. [redacted] a $50 credit for the time and gas she spent bringing in the vehicle.Thank you[redacted]President

Due to the previously mentioned issue, I had no other choice but to miss two different days from work, costing me close to $300 from my pay. A $50 credit to my account is equal to merely 3 hours of my time. I apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately this offer does not resolve my complaint.
Regards,
I recently purchased a truck from cactus jacks on country club in mesa Az, and I cant begin to tell you how extremely satisfied I am with the vehicle I purchased and the deal I received. By far with the customer service I have and am still receiving I would recommend to everyone I know and who I come across where to buy a top of the line pre-owned vehicle that has gone through an extensive inspection and repair process before it reaches the front line. Thank you so very much to my salesman [redacted] and the owner [redacted].
