Response to complaint.We worked extensively on MrA [redacted] engine, providing towing costs ($500.00) as well as shipping warrantied engine parts ($2048.00) because he was unhappy with the performance of his engineWe have not received ANY of the implied "damaged" parts back for inspection.MrA*** filed a chargeback in the amount of $with his credit card company for the payment of his parts and labor, and the funds were returned to himAFTER he filed this chargeback, he called and insisted we again provide parts and labor to fix his engineWe refused, as he had already received his money back from his credit card company, and was still in possession of the parts he had purchased and the funds with which he purchased them, as well as all of the new warranty replacement parts.We have since appealed the credit card chargeback, and the case was found in our favorThe funds were returned to our business.Mondello's stands by its work and parts, and we will warranty parts AT NO CHARGE if they are found to be defectiveWe never had an opportunity to inspect the parts MrA [redacted] claimed had broken.If MrA [redacted] wishes to obtain a refund for his parts, he will need to remove all of them from his engine and ship them back to us along with any broken parts or parts we shipped him under warranty

MrP [redacted] did indeed purchase a Rochester Carburetor from our company on 01-14-for $plus a $freight charge There was an issue with the carburetor maintaining an idle, so the carburetor was returned to us and received by us on 05-04-2015.It is our store return policy to issue an in-house credit (exchange) for any parts returned in a used conditionWe warranty all of our parts, so he would have received a either a repaired carburetor or a replacement carburetor if indeed the carburetor was found to be defective.In this case we will refund this customer the full purchase price of the carburetor including freight, $512.00.The credit will be issued to his credit card and he will receive confirmation via US mail within business days of this response

I am rejecting this response because:
The part breaking is not the problemThis installation of these parts is the problem and that is proven by the same exact parts breaking every time the car was driven home(times same rocker arm and valve springs broke) The problem is the installation of all of the parts installed in my engine was not correct and that is what caused the parts to break over and over againBy Mondello replacing these parts over and over again they did not fix the problemThey warrantied the parts times and that is enoughSince Mondello NEVER took the engine apart again to fix the problem and kept giving me new parts back that continued to break they need to refund me my money for the labor and installation of the parts installed.May claim is the Labor not the partsThe parts were not the problem is was the Labor / Installation.Please refund me the labor costs of $since that was the problem.(Note: I have since had the engine rebuilt with these same parts and the engine is running great)

I am rejecting this response because: This has nothing to do with a ten year parts warranty It has everything to do with the fact that I never got the motor I ordered . It appears they cannot build the motor I paid for because they have had two chances at getting it right and have failed both timesI have better things to do than pulling motors in and out every monthIt costs me labor, fluids, and gaskets every time and I can"t keep paying for their mistakesIf I would have gotten the new motor I ordered from the start and it had broken, that's what the warranty is forThey can not send me two pieces of crap and expect me to be happy with that, warranty or not! This company is supposed to be the top in their fieldAs far as what I have received I can not say they are even in the middleI think they are trying to take advantage of the fact that I live in Michigan and they are in CaliforniaThey must have thought I didn't have any knowledge about what they were building for meWhen I got the first motor I ran the serial number on the block and found out it wasn't even a block no roller camshaft, reworked used heads and no telling what else. I never got to look inside the motorI can only assume it was as wrong as the rest of it. The build sheet they emailed me said it was a . As far as not issuing refunds, they broke that rule when they refunded me the cost of the bad transmissions I sent backI've said it before I'll say it again they have lost my trust. I cannot trust that they will give me the product I have worked so hard to save that kind of money for. It's
misrepresentation where I come from and it is their responsibility to refund me. I work in a very busy auto shop with co-workers and customers coming and goingEveryone knows me and know the car this motor goes in and I am tired of being known as the guy who spent thirteen thousand dollars for a motor and got taken to the cleaners. Bottom line I paid for a performance motor and didn't get it. These motors have been a complete embarrassment to me on and off the track so please refund my money and let me get on with getting my car up and running. Regards,

I am rejecting this response because: The engine was not 'balanced and blueprinted' which means it would have been like new. See photos - the lifters were chewed up, the cam shaft was chewed up, sludge was dug out from the engineThis is not a warranty issue - it is deceptive trade practice and there will be a lawsuit with all this evidence in the very near future. This company should be investigated for fraud

This engine was purchased and shipped to MrB*** in 2012, and we have had no direct communication from this customer until April 20, 2015. He stated in a letter to us that he first started his engine on March 20th 2015. So it sat for years before he ever even started his motor, and we
are not aware under what conditions the motor was started and run (fluids changed, motor primed, etc.).Mondello Performance has a year warranty on all of the parts installed on its enginesIf there is a defective part in the engine, the customer can return the part or the entire engine for parts replacement or repair of the motor. We will not refund any amount paid for this engine.If the customer would like to contact us to arrange a warranty repair, we will be happy to accommodate him under the terms of our warranty.M*** ***Office ManagerMondello Performance Products, Inc

As stated previously, we warranty our engines.  If this customer would like to return the motor to us we will go through it, determine what the problems are with the engine and if necessary rebuild it, no charge to the customer.As of this date we have had no opportunity to inspect this engine since it was shipped to the customer in March of 2012, over three years ago.Should the customer decide to send his engine back to us we will be happy to honor our warranty.

AFTER he filed this chargeback, he called and insisted we again provide parts and labor to fix his engine. We refused, as he had already received his money back from his credit card company, and was still in possession of the parts he had purchased and the funds with which he purchased them, as well as all of the new warranty replacement parts.We have since appealed the credit card chargeback, and the case was found in our favor.
