Calabro Chiropractic and Wellness Center LLC

This is in response to the allegations listed above. Upon a review of our accounts receivable we came across an outstanding debt on this patient's account in the amount of $463.00. A invoice was sent to the patient indicating this outstanding debt. Upon further review we found this
debt to be legitimate. There was a delay to her phone calls because the billing coordinator was ill. She returned her call on 12/10/15, with an apology for the delay in response. The patient was extremely rude to my staff with her phone calls, was abusive in her wording and used profanity. I cannot confirm her conversation with any staff member regarding her account because she could not identify to whom she originally spoke with. I consulted with a collection attorney about collecting outstanding debts and was told that I can go back years to collect outstanding debts I find this claim to be out of anger and trying to get out of a legitimate debt

I spoke to *** directly on January 28, at approximately 8:15pm to discuss the outstanding situation. The intention with the call was to discuss the matter at hand and to come to a solution. I understand ***'s position and her frustration with the matter. After discussing the situation, expressing our opinion and feelings, we both agreed not to pursue further action on each other. Since the staff member is no longer employed at the office I cannot discuss the situation with that particular individual to question the conversation she had with *** about her outstanding balanceIf the above statement stands with *** the balance will be written off in good faith and she will not owe any further monies to the office Regards,*** ** ***, DC

I am rejecting this response because: I was told when I left in that I was paid in full. I do not believe I should be paying this expense years later after being told I was paid in full. I did not use profanity with any of his staff but I strongly expressed my opinion on why I should not have to pay. I was also told by the billing coordinator on 12/10/that my insurance company was notified in of expenses and they received payment from them, but the insurance payment is not listed on my statement. Furthermore, I did not go through insurance for my visits and are unaware of how they received my old insurance information. This is a lot of money and I am upset that I am being informed years later of a debt that I was told was paid in full. I also want to say that my billing situation was discussed with another patient by Doctor *** without my authority during the other patient's visit recently. That is a violation of HIPA law
