Our agent Marty basically collected money and booked online thru vacation expressI usually am my own travel agent but with my busy schedule decided to go back to having someone else iron out all the kinks and do my researchAt one point I called her to report at the resort was offering a spa credit if traveling was done within the parameters that I was traveling inShe said that she would look into itIt is now two days before my trip and her response is "you never told me that" There is very little contact with her so I started doing my own research and found out that you need a $travelers card when visiting the Dominican republicI was able to secure one online as my friend that went a few months ago said her agent said to order online as it saves time in customs I felt like a travel agent should be telling you tips about the country that you were going to visit, tell you about excursions in the area, and give you a nice summary of the resort that you would be traveling toIt is two days before I leave and I had to call her because I had not received any vouchers, Airline tickets, and information on transportation to the hotelShe stated she mailed it out yet we did not receive itThis travel agent didn't do anything spectacular to make me want to recommend using a travel agentThere is no perks in using an agentYou can do better on your ownMy boyfriend went in to pick up copies of our paperwork since we did not receive it in the mail and she gave him a beach bag that looks like a grocery sack that's insulting as this trip was very expensiveVery disappointed
