August 11, 2017To Whom it May Concern:We received the complaint for ID [redacted] In the complaint the service date was listed as 9/8/16, Our records reflect the actual service date for 5/25/The patient was in our office and ordered new tenses for which she left a deposit of $65.00, which was the required half of the total for her new lensesWe left a message for the patient on 6/1/and explained that she would need to drop off her frame so the new lenses could be put into her glassesAnother message was left on 7/15/16, again stating that the lab was ready for her frame to insert the new lensesThe last message left was on 8/24/for the patient again, encouraging her to come to the office to pick up her lensesPer our office on 8/30/the order was cancelled and the lenses were returned to the manufacturer for credit on our accountOn 10/19/our staff person spoke to her personally regarding her picking up the lensesThey explained at that time that the lenses were no longer available and no monles would be returned to her as we had incurred a cost of $for the lenses due to them being a custom made product, They could not come to a solution and the patient hung up on her.We believe that in this case no reimbursement should be made to the patient as our cost to make the patients custom made lenses was $69.10, higher than the $deposit that she left at the time of her initial purchase. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me directly at ###-###-####.Sincerely,Christine Y., ABOC Certified Lead Optician
