Review: in February of 2015 I opened an account, the account was closed only a few weeks after being opened with a positive balance. I was issued a check for said balance owed me. I recently went to another bank and they informed me that I had been reported to chek systems by California bank and trust.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the report to cheksystems removed as my account was closed with a positive balance.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Review: RE: Violations of California and Federal Consumer laws California Codes 1789.30 (c) and 1789.35 and American with Disabilities:
California Trust Bank Bank Practices. Denial of cashing fudiciary check drawn on their bank account. On 9/10/2014. Deceptive, changing banking practices by California Trust Branch 1800 Arden Way, California 95815.
I requested to cash a fudiciary check drawn on California Trust bank account. I do have an account with California Trust. The only form of ID they accept for this transaction is a California Driver license card. (I do not drive do to my blindness disablity) I offered them a military ID and was told today that my military ID would not be honor at this bank.
I was told to find another local bank.
I have been cashing my fudiciary check with California Trust since 2001 and every request is accompanied by a prolonged wait the head teller decides (or not decides) (I am African-American) to approved. I dread the look over up and down visual test every time. Every time I am "pitched" on I haven't seen before. (I know they are incentive for such behavior).Desired Settlement: Am I corrrrect an assuming the guarantee of cashing a fudiciary check drawn in a bank own your account? Please investigate.

Response:
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused to Mr. [redacted]. We note first that Mr. [redacted] is not a bank customer, and this makes identification procedures vital. Second, the branch was following the bank’s check cashing policy. The bank’s procedures classify military identification as one that must be used in conjunction with a form of primary identification such as: California Driver’s License California Identification Card All Passports (name, issue and expiration must be in English) US Passport Card (issued on or after 77/14/08 Mexican Consular Identification Card US Visa (often kept with passport) Permanent Resident Card aka Green Card of Alien Registration Card (must be accompanied by Secondary ID card) Mexican and Canadian Driver’s Licenses Mr. [redacted] had no form of primary identification which is why the branch declined to cash the check.

Response:
The California Attorney General cited me the law to me. Which is a violation of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau(CFPB) for certain consumer protection laws and regulations. The California Bank and Trust failed to provide me with Bank Policy in writing.
