Review: Californiabirthindex.com and [redacted] posted my name, birthday, place of birth, and mother's maiden name on their website for the public to view. I never authorized them to post this, and as the 4-time victim of identity theft, I want this information removed. There is no avenue to have the content removed via their website. I sent them an email a year ago to remove it and they never even responded to or acknowledged my email. Websites such as Intelius and [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted], allow citizens to opt-out of having their name and information included in their database. Californiabirthindex.org does not offer this. As an active duty military member, my social security number has been compromised. By posting my birthday, place of birth, and especially mother's maiden name on a public website is inviting disaster. Why make it so easy for someone to commit identity theft? My personal information is posted on their website without my permission and they have ignored repeated requests for it to be taken down. I want my information removed from their website and for others to be able to do the same via a link on their website. I am sure I am not the only one with this problem or who has filed a complaint against them.Desired Settlement: 1. I want all of my information, including my name, removed from their website. At the very least I want my mother's maiden name removed from their website. To post this in this day and age is an outrage.

2. I want them to offer an opt-out or removal program for those of us who do not want our personal information to appear on their website, like Intelius and [redacted] offer. In this day and age of identity theft, californiabirthindex.org is making it too easy for fraudsters to steal identities. They have no right to post my mother's maiden name or anything about me on their website without my consent.

Review: I want my name removed from this site to protect my privacy. Currently there is a lot of personal information about me listed (name, address, relatives, etc.). Though I understand this information is public, I want to opt out, and there is no opt out function on their website. www.californiabirthindex.org takes public birth records and posts your age, birthdate, AND your mother's maiden name including location where you are born on the internet and available for anyone to search without authorization or permission. There is no opt out or removal of this information. This is a violation of public privady and property. The birth records are only available through administration of the California Birth Records office, but NOT to post on the internet. Californiabirthindex.org allows identity theft and personal information about individuals without notifying them of their doing so. they are violating the law & need to be put out of business. Review: By just typing in my name in Google search this company offers mt name, my mothers name, my age,and where I was born. This is against privacy laws and makes me feel unsafe that my information is available by a click of a button. Review: The California birth index post information that makes it easy for identity theft. There is no way to remove your information from their website. This is an invasion of privacy. Because this website post so much information other websites can get ahold of it and other individuals who could use the information maliciously. Or for a website like this to be taken down because it only permits identity theft no good can come of this website.

There is absolutely no option to take the information off of the website unlike most background check sites. The information contained in the website, comes up automatically on Google when doing a search of someone without even accessing their website or asking for the information on the californiabirthindex.org website itself. This is a violation of public privacy and property. California Birth Index also posts their information on Ancestry.com, Rootweb.com, and Dreamhost.com.Desired Settlement: I would like my all of my data removed immediately from The California Birth Index or CABI database and website including all of the other websites which are selling or posting the information supplied by The California Birth Index.The fact that the people searching for info about me can have such easy access to this type of sensitive information is unbelievable.The information provided by this site is an invitation to identity theft.
