Review: To whom it may concern,
On 3/14/15 I purchased from Carlink of [redacted] a 2002 [redacted] for my daughter [redacted] to drive. After 3 weeks, the car broke down on 4/4/15. [redacted]
had the car towed to our mechanic [redacted] which we trust. He told [redacted]
that there are a lot ofleaks in the radiator, plus a lot of issues with the transmission. We
called the salesman [redacted] who sold us the car and we told him what happened.
He suggested that we flush the transmission and that would make the car fine to drive
again. The owner of Car link reimbursed [redacted] $200 for the fix. The total cost of the fix
was $883.75. We were happy when we were toia the car would be fine to drive. When we
picked the car up on 4/18/15 it broke down again the next day. [redacted] did
mention that flushing the transmission wouldn't solve the issues with the car. We told
[redacted] the problems, but he thought that [redacted] was cheating us. We then
tried to contact the Carlink dealership again but there was no response. [redacted] towed the
car to [redacted] and they said that the transmission needed to be
replaced. We tried to contact [redacted] again but no response. During 4/13/15 through
4/17/15 AAMCO ordered parts and replaced the transmission and other issues. Finally
we picked up the car on 4/17/15. It cost $2,801.25. During all that time we continually
tried to contact [redacted] to ask him or the owner to help us with the cost of the car issues.
He always stated that the owner was not around and that he could not make any decisions
without his permission. The last time [redacted] talked with [redacted], he said he was not going to
get involved with anything or pay any damages. When we bought the car there were no
documents showing that the transmission, radiator and other parts were certified.
Shouldn't the car be checked out before it is put on the market to sell? My daughter was
sold an unsafe automobile. I've been on disability for 10 months now and it is mentally
and physically hard for me to deal with this financial hardship. I am requesting a
judgment against the dealership for fraud and financial hardship so they will not cheat
other people in the future. I know that when you buy a used car you have to expect to fix
some things on it. I never thought it would be this soon or this much money after I bought
the car. Therefore, I am asking for $2400 for partial payment for all expenses.
The bill is: [redacted] $883.75.- $200.00 = $683.75 + [redacted] $2,801.25
= $3,485.00. Thank you for your time.
Best Regards

June 41h 2015'[redacted]Revdex.com4747 Viewridge Ave #200San Diego, CA 92123RE: ID [redacted]Dear [redacted]We received your letter dated May 141h,.2015 on June P1•It is unfortunate to hear about this customer's experience with the car she purchased from us.The car was sold on March 14th, 2015 AS-IS NO WARRANTY. The cl'ient was offered a servicecontract and a·cancellation option that were declined by her. The only issue that needed to befixed when she test drove this vehicle was the A/C. We took care of that and a couple of otherminor things on March 19th....About 3 weeks and almost 800 miles later she told us about the transmission went bad and thatshe wants to fix at her own mechanic. We offered to have it fixed at our mechanic if she can towthe vehicle to his location, she refused! We were not aware, nor she ever mentioned anythingabout the radiator going bad. This explains why she refused to tow the car to our mechanic! We agreed to pay her $200.00 for the inconvenience and have her car towed. We explained thatwe would not reimburse anyone when they fix their vehicle at their own mechanic's shop, but wewent ahead and issued the check as a sign of goodwill.Few days later, she called to inform us the car broke down again and wanted us to pay to fix it ather mechanic. I explained that I could not make that decision and I needed to talk to the owner. The owner said we will not make another exception and asked if they can bring the vehicle tohave it checked by our mechanic. They refused and threatened to take us to court. There was oneother phone call after that, a 3-way conversation with her husband and I never heard from themagain. I called them few times later but there was no response. We have tried to help and offered to have the vehicle fixed at our mechanic's shop, but theyrefused to cooperate with us. We even issued a check against company's policy to make themhappy and show goodwill. We made it a habit to offer a service contract with every vehicle we sell, as we can't guaranteetheir performance once they leave our lot. We know of no dealership that will guarantee a usedvehicle driven 795 miles under unknown conditions.Thank you for your letter and for your efforts. We wish we're able to help this customer more, butwithout her cooperation and willingness to work with us and have things fixed at our mechanic'sshop there's nothing else we can do.Sincerely,[redacted]California Carlink
