Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/10/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not agree with the response of Mr*** *** Sror California Home Solutions because it is not the truthThe reason we parted ways with CHS was not due to a "disagreement on cabinetry" as Mr*** would have you believe, but rather due to the poor quality and shoddy workmanship provided by his company
On several occasions we pointed out these errors/defects to Mr***, and he assured us that this would be corrected before continuing with the next phase, however, it was not
After seeing that CHS was INCAPABLE of providing good QUALITY work, we parted waysSince Mr*** and CHS were paid to complete phase of the job, we asked that he do soMr*** stated he would need day to complete which we gave him
His crew worked the entire day to repair all the errors they had previously madeAfter allowing them to work for the day, we inspected our home to make sure it was complete and error free, however, it was notThe only thing CHS did was create new mistakes, and cover shoddy work with moldings and door stops(Covering up damages with moldings instead of repairing is not QUALITY work)
Also, Mr*** left without doing a final walk around as he promised my wife earlier in the day
At this point we contacted Mr*** via text, and requested he provide bond info, which he refusedHe actually lied to us and provided us a Surety name (What kind of reputable company does this)
Mr*** did request an opportunity to come out a repair the new mistakes made, however, we did not allow this because he did not keep his word and afford us a final walk aroundIf he would have stayed to do this then we could have discussed additional time
In closing, we could not allow CHS to continue working in our home based on the shoddy work we had seen them do thus farWe strongly believe that CHS and INCAPABLE of doing good quality work
Our decision to fire CHS would not come as a surprise to Mr*** if he would have actually spent a day on the job site and supervised his crewHis crew does not know what they are doing and I have photos documenting the substandard work completed

I disagree with Mr***'s assessment of the situationMr*** was never present at the job site, only showed up to collect moneyI did in fact point out to him on several occasions that I was not happy with work completed
Specifically, on 8/10/I brought to his attention the damages to my shutters caused by his crewMr*** said he would repair, however, he did notMatter of fact I have pictures documenting the substandard repair work he did
On 8/8/2015, I brought to Mr***'s attention the fact that the border around my Sliding door was unacceptable, again he said he would repairWhat he did instead was cover up damage with a moldingI did not agree to this molding as it was not there initiallyHe covered it up rather than repairing(Cutting corners)
On 8/19/2015, I informed Mr*** that his crew left the front door to my property completely openMy belongings, as well as his tools were visible from the street and no one form CHS was presentWhen I told him of this, "his response was that "he was not there, he was handling administrative matters for another job." Mr*** *** stated he had left my property at 3:that day due to "Family emergency for his son"this does not excuse the fact that my front door was left open for hours and my belongings could have been stolen
8/24/2015, I pointed out to crew a hole in the wall caused by door knobThey did not repair, instead the covered up with door stopCutting corners seems to be their specialty
On 8/27/my wife pointed out several problem areas other than base boardMr*** agreed to do a final walk around to inspect, however, he did not stayHe claims he told my wife they would leave at 4, however, when we asked how long he would be there he did not give a timneframeHe stated, and I quote "I will be here until it's done." job was not done and he left anyways
I have numerous text showing that Mr*** had difficulty keeping to schedule, and also proof that he did not give us enough time to accommodate our busy work schedules to meet him
On 8/27/2015, he was advised not to return to my propertyOn 8/28/I was advised per my neighbors that CHS was trespassing on my propertyIt was at this point that I informed CHS I would seek legal actionThis behavior is unacceptable of any reputable company and it intimidated my wife
Since he has left my property I have come across many more problem areas in the work completed, or should I say incomplete
The list continues, and I have photos documenting poor craftsmanship
In closing, I did not allow CHS to continue working on my property due to shoddy workmanship, and disrespect towards my self and my wifeI have avoided conversation with Mr*** his inability to speak professionally, and I find it better not to communicate with him further

With that said in the work order it self there are materials that where specifically order and didn't get installed in my roof, we noticed we where missing our Vents and Mr. [redacted] agreed and called for a installation for the following day. we should had received a total of 5 vents we only got 2 installed. Once again I will say we keeped open communication with Mr. [redacted] son [redacted]. Who never gave us an explanation as to why we never had a professional license contractor on site we where always concern about how our roof  was being installed because everything they sold on us during their presentation was a faux. I feel like if my wife and I wouldn't had notice materials where being deliver in correctly they never would had taken responsibility, luckily we are not as naive and notice the difference between what they told us we would receive as too what we were  receiving and called [redacted]. immediately and he did make the changes. If a professional license contractor was on site that wouldn't of happened and had a whole day wasted. I really trusted everything they said and even after having a difficult installation process and expressing our feelings and concerns to Mr. [redacted] he seemed genuine and apologetic he honored the 1,200 his son had honor previously and added another $200 more for the missing vents. Unfortunately, he never wrote out a new contract which makes it our word against his but I do hope he recalls it. As for a [redacted] (the administrator) she has only been contacted once about the check who did explain she will mail in 2 checks with the even amounts of $700 each, never again did she try to communicate with us again. I did try contacting her when we notice we had not received the checks and never got a hold of her, she was never available in her office. I believe eventually after a month or so my wife did get in contact and tried explaining the situation but she was unaware of anything she didn't even remember speaking to me about the refund of the 1,400 so my wife didn't feel comfortable releasing any forms to her.

inspection with the Inspector due to city being over booked. As far as the contractor not being on site, he was out of town due to a personal family matter which [redacted] and [redacted] were aware of, we did have our Project Manager [redacted] on site to check on the work being done with our roofing Sub Contractor. When Mr. [redacted] did return to town he did stop to see homeowners and apologize for not being on site during the installation. This is when he was told about the Price Match Guarantee they were given by our Sales Rep. [redacted] (see attachment) and was suppose to be $1,400.00 from a company they claimed they received a estimate from. Mr. [redacted] asked them if they can give him a copy of the estimate they received and we can take a look at it and give them the refund of $1,400.00 if the estimate was going to be the same material, the installation the same, same warranty and with credentials that are equal or greater than California Home Solutions. We have never received any paperwork for them proving they found a company that was going to do the same work as us for a less price. On July 25, 2017 [redacted] (Administrator) reached out to [redacted] in regards to the paperwork to settle this matter and [redacted] did not want to send via email, bring to office or even let someone from the company pick it up so it can be turned into for review. She claimed that we should already have it in our records and that it was a word of mouth price from another company and this company did not want to give her an estimate if she was not going to do business with them. We have tried to resolve this matter with the homeowners and even expanded the 30-Day Price Match Guarantee which was to end on July, 15, 2017 to July 31,2017 and we have never received any copies from them to show the price difference.

Insurance company allowed $3,400.00 for reconstruction, the check was issued to the Mortgage company (Please see letter to Mortgage company) C.H.S. completed Phase 1 of the agreement, other than upstairs vanity cabinet, hallway cabinet, and downstairs bathroom cabinet. Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] wanted special ordered cabinets (custom) On August 22, 2015 we met and signed a change order, and the reason being their insurance company was not going to allow for special order cabinets or any extras. [redacted] signed and agreed to the cost. (Note: C.H.S was still waiting for additional payment from Mortgage company to fulfill start of job cost. Mr. [redacted] agreed to pay so job can continue and would keep payment from mortgage when it was issued. (Please see change order) On August 24, 2015 I informed Mr. [redacted] that the cabinets he wanted we special order and would not be available for five weeks, at that time he was upset and I offered him an option, I tried to explain to him that we just agreed on a change order on August 22, 2015. He then became unreasonable, I reached out to his Insurance company and Mortgage company and we sent him a letter on August 25, 2015 (please see letter) to inform him, what we were advise to do. I met with Mrs. [redacted] in regards to work that was incomplete, she walked around the house and pointed out areas that needed work and I assured her that all baseboard would be completed by 4 o'clock pm that day. She did not want cabinet options that I gave her and did not want us to complete work, I advised her that she has a contract with us and then she became hostile and I did not want to continue conversation. (Note: this is only Phase 1 of a three phase contract) I contacted Mr. [redacted] by text at 4:05 pm that we were going to leave, we waited until 4:30 pm and do to his hostility on the phone we decided to leave the property, and he was texting me throughout the evening. (Please see text messages.) I informed him that this has been a tough week for both of us and I do not want any negative hostility. So I believe it is better for us to try to work this out through photos and we can meet when we are done. Mr. [redacted] responded by saying " at this point, all we are asking of you, is that CHS return the funds for cabinetry ($3,428.00) and sign the lien waiver. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/10/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not agree with the response of Mr. [redacted] Sr. or California Home Solutions because it is not the truth. The reason we parted ways with CHS was not due to a "disagreement on cabinetry" as Mr. [redacted] would have you believe, but rather due to the poor quality and shoddy workmanship provided by his company.
On several occasions we pointed out these errors/defects to Mr. [redacted], and he assured us that this would be corrected before continuing with the next phase, however, it was not.
After seeing that CHS was INCAPABLE of providing good QUALITY work, we parted ways. Since Mr. [redacted] and CHS were paid to complete phase 1 of the job, we asked that he do so. Mr. [redacted] stated he would need 1 day to complete which we gave him.
His crew worked the entire day to repair all the errors they had previously made. After allowing them to work for the day, we inspected our home to make sure it was complete and error free, however, it was not. The only thing CHS did was create new mistakes, and cover shoddy work with moldings and door stops. (Covering up damages with moldings instead of repairing is not QUALITY work).
Also, Mr. [redacted] left without doing a final walk around as he promised my wife earlier in the day.
At this point we contacted Mr. [redacted] via text, and requested he provide bond info, which he refused. He actually lied to us and provided us a false Surety name (What kind of reputable company does this).
Mr. [redacted] did request an opportunity to come out a repair the new mistakes made, however, we did not allow this because he did not keep his word and afford us a final walk around. If he would have stayed to do this then we could have discussed additional time.
In closing, we could not allow CHS to continue working in our home based on the shoddy work we had seen them do thus far. We strongly believe that CHS and INCAPABLE of doing good quality work.
Our decision to fire CHS would not come as a surprise to Mr. [redacted] if he would have actually spent a day on the job site and supervised his crew. His crew does not know what they are doing and I have photos documenting the substandard work completed.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 18, 2015/10/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I disagree with Mr. [redacted]'s assessment of the situation. Mr. [redacted] was never present at the job site, only showed up to collect money. I did in fact point out to him on several occasions that I was not happy with work completed.
Specifically, on 8/10/2015 I brought to his attention the damages to my shutters caused by his crew. Mr. [redacted] said he would repair, however, he did not. Matter of fact I have pictures documenting the substandard repair work he did.
On 8/8/2015, I brought to Mr. [redacted]'s attention the fact that the border around my Sliding door was unacceptable, again he said he would repair. What he did instead was cover up damage with a molding. I did not agree to this molding as it was not there initially. He covered it up rather than repairing. (Cutting corners)
On 8/19/2015, I informed Mr. [redacted] that his crew left the front door to my property completely open. My belongings, as well as his tools were visible from the street and no one form CHS was present. When I told him of this, "his response was that "he was not there, he was handling administrative matters for another job." Mr. [redacted] stated he had left my property at 3:00 that day due to "Family emergency for his son". this does not excuse the fact that my front door was left open for 3 hours and my belongings could have been stolen.
8/24/2015, I pointed out to crew a hole in the wall caused by door knob. They did not repair, instead the covered up with door stop. Cutting corners seems to be their specialty.
On 8/27/2015 my wife pointed out several problem areas other than base board. Mr. [redacted] agreed to do a final walk around to inspect, however, he did not stay. He claims he told my wife they would leave at 4, however, when we asked how long he would be there he did not give a timneframe. He stated, and I quote "I will be here until it's done." job was not done and he left anyways.
I have numerous text showing that Mr. [redacted] had difficulty keeping to schedule, and also proof that he did not give us enough time to accommodate our busy work schedules to meet him.
On 8/27/2015, he was advised not to return to my property. On 8/28/2015 I was advised per my neighbors that CHS was trespassing on my property. It was at this point that I informed CHS I would seek legal action. This behavior is unacceptable of any reputable company and it intimidated my wife.
Since he has left my property I have come across many more problem areas in the work completed, or should I say incomplete.
The list continues, and I have photos documenting poor craftsmanship.
In closing, I did not allow CHS to continue working on my property due to shoddy workmanship, and disrespect towards my self and my wife. I have avoided conversation with Mr. [redacted] his inability to speak professionally, and I find it better not to communicate with him further.

[redacted]Document Attached[redacted]
In response to Mr. [redacted]'s response on 10/6/15, Mr. [redacted] has refused to give California Home Solutions the opportunity to fix any mistakes or send any pictures to resolve this case. On the last day we worked there Mrs. [redacted]'s only concern was the baseboard not being completed correctly and we had fixed her concerns she had on all baseboard. The new items that Mr. [redacted] is mentioning of poor quality workmanship was never pointed out and never mentioned to us the last day we worked on their property. However the new issues he mentioned are on text messages but never explained what the issues were or send me any pictures via text or email. California Home Solutions takes the stand that Mr. [redacted] wants to get a refund back stated in his complaints based on his text messages sent to me, and now that we have filed a civil case against him and taking him to court for breech of contract ( see attachments) and knows he will not be receiving any refund, he is pinpointing poor quality of work. Prior to this there has never been anything pointed out as he is mentioning several times in his complaint. Mr. [redacted] also mentioned that we are not capable of doing good quality work and contradicts himself and says if we would have stayed there longer he would have pointed out the mistakes and let us repair them. As a general contracting company we have tried to reach out to Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] to resolve this matter and they refuse to respond. We agree that it is not our quality of work because it is in the first stage of phase 1 out of 3 phases which is drywall, texture and primer, all information is in prior documents that we have sent to the Revdex.com.
