The information given in her reply is all in my first response. The
technician visually looked for the air intake system "CARB" number and checked the website. If they
went to the BMW dealership as they claim they did, I would have asked them to put something in
writing to show that we were Incorrect In failing the vehicle. I did offer a free smog re-test once
the problem was corrected, see the first response. They smogged the vehicle over a week after their
initial
visit, anything could have been done to the vehicle in that time. That is the reason I wanted to
look at the air intake but after being loud
and cursing at me in front of my service writer I no longer wanted them In the shop. She missed
that part in her reply. The attitude and behaviour they displayed deserves no reward, I stand by my
original decision.

On thursday January 23rd at 9:47am a couple came In to our stablishment for a smog inspection.
During the smog Comprehensive Visual Inspection the smog technician found an aftermarket air Intake

Technician also looked up Information on the vehicle in the

smog inspection due to the missing ''CARB'' serial number. The customers were informed of the smog
test results and became outraged, they said the vehicle was smogged two years earlier and it passed
with no problems. We informed the couple that all they needed to pass the smog inspection was a
serial number for the part in question. They bacame loud & disruptive  in the office, they said
they should not have to pay for the smog inspection because it failed. I informed them of the
company policy which is posted on the wall that the smog inspection fee is due whether the vehicle
passes or fails the smog inspection. After much complaining the smog fee was paid. I even offered to
the couple a free smog re test once they fixed the problem. Later in the afternoon of the same day
the couple came back claiming to have gone to the BMW dealership and they were told that the air
intake system was ok for the vehicle, all verbal nothing in writing from the dealership. Again the
couple became loud & disruptive, they wanted their money back right there and then. They said they
were going to leave the shop and go straight to the BMW dealership to get a smog inspection. I said

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
First of all, we didn't rude and loud.  The guy( maybe a owner)was so rude.  We asked him to check the California air resource board website, but he didn't want to do.  He just asked us to pay to get a car back. And to pass the smog test, we needed to change the air intake system and we needed to pay smog test again.   so we went to a BMW dealer, and the dealer said there was no proplem to pass the smog test with the air Intake system.  so we went back to the shop and explained him: however he didn't want to listen.  So I asked him "if smog test pass other place, can you refund money back?"  He said "Yes".  Thank God that I asked him to write down.  we didn't said to him we would do the smog test that day neither do the test on the dealer.  The dealer charged $90 for smog test and I don't want to spend too money for smog test which doesn't have no problem to pass.  Later I went to The Brake Stop & Repair, and there was no problem to pass.  The shop checked the California air resource board website(even we didn't ask) and passed the test.   I told the shop that what happened on the CaliforniaMotorWorks and Tires.  The Brake Stop &Repair said that the CaliforniaMotorWorks and Tires supposed to be checked the web and figured out.  The Brake Stop & Repair shop printed out the web site to prove it.  So we went to back the California MotorWorks and tires and show the prove of passing the smog test and the print out the web.  The owner looked the paper, and he said very rudely "Move your car, so I can check the air Intake system is the same one that I saw."  So I told him  " you need to say at least please."  And then he said that why he needed to say Please.   I said "because you didn't listened to us and didn't checked the web  i wasted my time. So at least you need to say Please or Sorry."  Anyway my husband moved my car inside the shop.  And suddenly, The owner said" I don't want to check your car neither refund money.  if you want, sue me."  That's why we was so mad.  The owner made whole different story. Thank God that I asked him to write" smog pass refund money".  If Revdex.com want to see how the shop is terrible, go check the California MotorWorks and Tires on Revdex.com website.  There were a lot of complains about the shop. I regret that I didn't check the shop on Revdex.com before I went to th shop!
Regards,
[redacted]

During the Smoke exam process of my vehicle, the technician damaged one of my hose and failed my vehicle based on visual inspection even though the test itself passed. The hose is one foot long and cost me $1.50 at Pepboy and they even intalled it for me free, however the California MotorWorks and Tiers quote me $100 to fix this hose. They tried to rip the customer off. Be careful with this shop.

Review: I got a smog test this place and they did't pass my car. they said that my car intake modification([redacted]) was not original part, and it had no serial number. I explained that it is BMW original part. they didn't listen and just asked me to pay. I asked them to call bmw or google it to checkathat it is original: however, they just denied. they said that if it can pass smog test other place, they would refund a money.(thanks a god that I asked them to write it and they wrote"refund when smog passs")therefore, I went to another place(Brake Stop & Auto Repair)and passed it. there was no problem. so I went back to the california mortor work and tires and asked a refund. they didn't say sorry. they refused to refund the money. it was terrible place. if you check Yelp, you can see a lot of bad review about this place.Desired Settlement: I want refund and apologize from them.it wasted my time and ruined my day.
