Upon receiving the initial communication that the customer’s true up bill was “too high”, we checked the customer’s monitoring account and noticed an issueWhen we then visited the home we found that of the panels were not producing energy due to a disconnect on the roof that was turned off After an in depth analysis we concluded that their issue turned out to be a combination of the disconnect being turned off, along with an increase in the electricity usage in their homeAs is our process, once a system is installed the monitoring account is checked to verify that all of the panels are producing electricityAt the time of their installation all panels were on and registering in our solar monitoring online portalWhen our installers left the job site the disconnect was left on, which is also our process Additionally, we were not notified by the customer that something was not working properly with the system for over monthsThe [redacted] household did have an AC system installed shortly after their solar installation, so it is possible that the disconnect was not turned back on afterwardsThis is our belief because we have verified that the system was on and working properly after their installationPer their contract we designed their solar system to produce 9,kWh annually, this was agreed to by the customer based on the amount of electricity they historically used We have also estimated the amount of electricity that would have been produced by the panels that were turned off during this time period to be 2,700kWh The customer pays about $.20/kwh on average, so if we take that into account, the customer lost $due to lack of production of their panels during the time period in question when the disconnect was turned off Anything above and beyond that on their SDG&E bill for electricity was additional electricity used in the home Soon after the installation the customer added a downstairs office and air conditioning, both of which can increase their electricity usage in the home When we analyzed their most recent usage they are using 65.5% more electricity than the system was designed to produceThis is the first time that we have experienced this issue in the thousands of installations that we have completed across all of CaliforniaOur true goal is to make sure that all of our customers are very happy with their solar systems, therefore, we have already changed our processes significantly to eliminate this from happening in the futureWe do not believe California Solar Systems to be at fault, but in an effort of good faith we had already given this customer $to help with their electric bill charge and in order to “keep the faith” we will cover the missing production cost of $

We have a contract with a list of the equipment that was installed for this customer and was signed by the customer, not the husbandA battery backup is not listed on the contract that he signed and was not even an available product at that time for any solar companyWe sent a third-party out to investigate the vents and they found other issues with the roof as well that were not from the solar systemThese issues were either caused by another contractor or the homeownerAs a good faith gesture, we had the third-party company repair that damage also and we paid for these repairs not the customerWhen they were done with all of the work, we then verified with the customer that he was satisfied and he said that he wasAmid all of this the rep had meetings with the customer as well regarding his concerns and the last time he met with him the customer had a firearm on the tableThis unfortunately poses a major safety issue for us now in regard to this customerWe have sent people out multiple times to address his concerns and once we addressed all of his concerns he said that he was satisfied, so this complaint is a bit unexpected.Tell us why here

I talked to a man from california solar systems all he did was explain the tax law he dident respond to the statment made by his salesman that I would get on my taxes at the end of the year also he dident have much to say about the statement about my electric bill either I was told my bill would almost be eleaveated with the panels and as far as the class action law suit I couldent find anything about solar and modesto irrigation

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved Regards, [redacted]

I live in Montara California and chose to use California Solar Systems after evaluating a dozen Solar CompaniesI chose them because: 1) they provided the most transparency regarding total cost to me and the installation process, 2) they provided me with the best lease saving me a lot of money, 3) they did not try to replace my roof shingles like [redacted] tried to do even though everyone has told me that my roof shingles were/are in great shape, 4) they were always prompt and kept me fully informed of the steps in the process, 5) and they were friendly and great people to interact with Finally, the system they installed has performed even better than they had projectedMy highest monthly electric bill (My home is all electric) before solar was $After installation my highest bill has only been $125!!! I highly recommend them

We have been in contact with the customer and discovered that their tax consultant gave them incorrect information regarding the 30% tax credit, thus telling them that they would not be receiving itWe were able to explain the tax credit process and referred them to the IRS website to obtain the details and needed forms to take to their tax consultantWe have tried to follow up with them since we first spoke with them, but have been unable to reach them again within the allowed time frame to respond to their complaintSo, we will have to update this complaint again once we have been able to confirm that the customer is satisfied
